he was just oozing potential last year in his limited appearances. I think we are in good hands and I think Allen will be there and will be ready too.

Apparently, after the first game, the competition will be ongoing and Allen will have a chance to earn the start soon after.

Dunno if I like that, though Sumlin knows his shite with QBs. As long as we don't have them rotating series or any BS like that I guess it's not a big deal

I doubt that will ever happen, but it seems the coaches think Allen has the potential to overtake the starting position at some point in the season.

If that happens, look for Hill to transfer next year and it will be Allen/Murray.

Not completely A&M related, but Shaun Nixon, the 4-star back that decommitted and signed with TCU, is likely out for the season with a knee injury.
