it was on a geocities site or something that no longer exists. story is 100% stolen though.
So it was a very popular story that no longer exist anywhere on the internet? Do you see how far fetched this sounds? There are at least cahed version of the original auburn post and many references to its beginning

I could have sworn that it had been around before 2004.
I was in college in the 90s and am almost positive that corndog references were around back then.
I figure LSU fans would know as well as anyone, though.

this gets stated over and over, yet no one has ever provided any sort of proof that it ever existed, which is weird considering yall say its out there
thats because it originated around 2001 and the message board doesn't even exist anymore

no doubt, corndogs are tasty. but lsu's campus on gameday smells like gumbo/jambalaya, etc. very different smell.
All of the people frying food reminds some people of one of the most common fried foods outside of Louisiana, corn dogs. Also, when the wind comes from the North or northeast, the whole northeast side of campus smells like corndogs thanks to the Weinershnitzel on Highland Road.

Searched Nebraska fans corndogs and only found LSU people claiming that
No stories about Nebraska fans being called corndogs that I can find

Bama fans killed a corndog one time in Baton Rouge.
ETA: hahaha - I meant an actual corndog. Not a human. Oh frick. Add it to the list for Bama's wrongdoings.

It all started with a famous coonass ... and a lovable corndog.

i don't know what to tell ya. that's how it originated. i honestly don't care about the whole corndog thing.
i was thinking about doing a copy/paste and replacing LSU with Auburn but i can't exactly put my finger on what the hell y'all smell like though.

If you can get Chicken to post cornbread's(the poster)post history around 2005, she linked the story and it was a mizzou fan that actually posted it originally. Everybody claims that it was an OU fan when in fact it was a Mizzou fan talking about attending the Nebraska State fair. Not only that, the original use to be posted on Tiger Lair all the time when some Auburn fan would break out the corndog insult. If you searched hard enough you could probably find it but google will always bring up these other type links b/c it's so saturated now with LSU fans. The original was on a Mizzou site. The story I mentioned being linked was off AOL.com blog. Either way, I've been around the message boards for a long time and can without question tell you it was a copy/paste and LSU was inserted for Nebraska.

It really is funny how the vast majority of LSU fans have that musky, cooking oil, body order smell. They have to all meet up before a game or something

It got popular with the auburn copy/paste.
It's odd to me you think a story about corndogs/cornhuskers is farfetched. I think any rational person would realize it makes complete sense.
At the end of the day choose to not believe it's origin if you want. It makes you wrong but whatever floats your boat. Obviously you weren't on message boards back then or you would know better.
