Didn't Dubose win the conference one year?

Dubose destroyed the team on the field, humiliated the University with a scandal, then got us hammered with the worst probation in school history.

The trifecta of idiocy. There has never been another Mike Dubose, nor will there ever be another.

MSU beat Bama 3 out of 4 during the Dubose years. This is coming from a State fan. 'Nuff said.

Curley is certainly the worst LSU coach I remember, but how do some of you LSU fans feel about Stovall and Archer?

Was Curley the coach that was kicking Auburn's fanny and kept throwing the ball.........Auburn kept picking it off.........and Auburn came back and won?

Yep. The same year we lost to Louisiana Tech!!! Want to know something funny? DuBose was 0-2 against those guys. We lost to them 26-20 on Homecoming Weekend in 1997 and lost to them 29-28 in the third game of the 1999 season. He came within a hair's breadth of losing to Eastern Carolina in 1998 - but we luckily pulled that one out in the final seconds.

And then you have the little gem that was the Southern Miss game in 2000 (21-0 loss) as well as the fact that we lost to Central Florida that same year on Homecoming. No big deal. Also add to the fact that we couldn't even beat Mississippi State while DuBose was head coach and you have the absolute worst head coach in living memory.

have a question for Mizzou fans. What happened with Warren Powers? Did he get canned for lack of performance or other?

short answer, no one really knows. He inherited a decent roster that included Phil Bradley, James Wilder and Kellen Winslow, among some other notable Mizzou players. Did ok w/ them beating a top ranked Neb team in Lincoln.

Really never solidified as a top coach, and wound up w/ a sub .500 record after a few year.

He coached at Mizzou in the dark ages when we had a feminist Chancellor named Babs Uehling that essentially tried to destroy our athletics dept from within. There are rumors that Powers had a penscient for drinking, no real evidence of that though, and there are some issues with his hiring that I'm not real clear about either.

Basically he saw the down end of a pretty good program from Al Onafrio and Dan Devines, days.

Followed closely by Jack Crowe.
Jack was/is a great offensive coordinator, but was not ready to take over when Hatfield left.
He's gone on to okay at Jacksonville St.

I don't think Croom was as bad of a coach as everyone makes him out to be. He was just very clean and didn't know how to let go of assistants. If we are basing it solely on wins and losses then yes, he was terrible due to his clean recruiting. But he has been very successful in the NFL.

Always liked Croom, always rooted for him when we weren't beating him.

Shula didn't manage to lose to Kentucky for the first time in SEVENTY FIVE years. Or lose to Central Florida and Louisiana Tech (frickING TWICE) at homecoming. Or get shut out by Southern Mississippi. Or lose three out of four to Mississippi State.

There hasn't been a worse coach than DuBose at UA since Whitworth.
