Would you like a cookie as well.

No offense this type of arrogance is no different than the fan you say your not. Most UA fans that act foolish and embarrass the program do so based on a since of entitlement. It really has nothing to do with their socio-economic surroundings.

Nope I fall into the 6 figures, season tickets, and live in a subdivision with my wife and 5 kids category. Not the I wear tshirts that have bama on them from wal mart and play corn hole in the front of the trailer park before game time category.

So the teabagger was on a similar career trajectory as you (although he would likely have not had five children, giving him more disposable income at your age). Interesting.

It's basically two things:

- Our fans are a little crazier than the average fan
- It's becoming popular to highlight crazy Bama fans

Our "fringe" fans drive me crazy and sometimes we distract what happens on the field. The Gumps who sprint with their baby every year should be shunned by any normal human being. And the sad thing is that most these fans probably couldn't name more than five players on the roster and these acts are more self serving than they are acts in the name of UA.....and that's the frustrating part. They should be catching more Hell from normal Bama fans than they currently do.

That said, it's not like we riot or pillage like other sports fans do when they win.

If we really did a full on investigation into every SEC team we could find a list of dumb shite every fanbases fringe loons have done.

1. We dont care enough about them to go through the trouble.

2. Any situation involving a bama fan will create multiple internet threads even when worse things are done by others. My 2011 example of Alabama and West Virginia fans is perfect. Nobody wants to get teabagged but I'm sure nobody wants to be beat within an inch of their life either. The teabagger was 1 guy while the WV mob was many. Both happened against LSU but which do they not shut the frick up about?

Who the frick cares what some other guy in a Bama hat does? I don't. I am not responsible for his behavior, and neither are you. Stay off the rant if it bothers you so much. I find it mildly amusing that 12/13 other fan bases (aside from the Aubs) can only trash talk us on the actions of our fans because we have dominated them on the field.

Enjoy this run. There will be a day where we will wish that we were on the top again even if that includes having to shake your head at the actions of some of the crazies in our fan base.

Nothing. People do dumb things. Sometimes those people doing dumb things are fans of Alabama football. Sometimes they are not...

Folks like Clay Travis make money off of it. C'est la vie.

You buying into yhis BS is comical.

Take all LSU fans, and how many murders and bank robbers do you get every year.

The first guy was born in Florida and was a cop in Texas I consider him a bandwagon fan.

The tea bagger was drunk, why I don't drink.

And Metts has a history of getting in fights in bars, both were drinking.

Give it a rest.

1. You're, not your. It's a Pet peeve of mine, sorry.
2. It isn't arrogance when it's reality for someone. Nowhere in that was I bragging randomly. He basically asked what category I fell under and I explained why I am different. Entitlement as a fan is for the birds to worry about. Caring what other people think about what you love is pathetic. If I lived a day of my life caring about some fans or anyone else I would be a sad guy. I attended Alabama, graduated with 2 degrees, have a great job, great family, and I enjoy watching Alabama football games on Saturdays. Alabama football and message boards come after all the other things I listed. Stating facts and separating myself from people I pretend don't exist isn't exactly coupling me with said people lol.

Sorry, I don't keep up with others' professions. What exactly did the guy do for a living? I'm willing to bet at no point in his life will he ever make as much money as me.

Some of you guys need to realize that you shouldn't care what LSU, auburn, or whoever the frick else thinks about people who put on a wal mart t shirt. They have those fans too. Represent yourself and care about what you love. If you love Alabama football, then love it for you with no distractions. Don't love it so you can brag and gloat on a message board or at a local restaurant about how you're a loyal and diehard bama fan. If you just act like you love it for you and don't even give others the time of day, they will acknowledge you as a minority and respect you without you having to give an alibi and explain yourself about how you are different than everyone else.

No you actually tried to distinguish yourself from others. You made a statement that eluded to being an alum was a higher, more distinguished category than being a fan.

quote:

There's fans and alum. I'm alum so I don't fall into the fan category

(BTW)There are, not there's when proceeding a plural noun.

A fan is a fan whether you attend said university or not. I was accepted into UA and considered at one time attending but decided to pick the university that best fit my needs to get the best education desired to meet my goals, which exactly did what I wanted and allows me to enjoy my current situation.

Once someone posted a negative response to your original post you went on to defend it. So apparently you do care what others have to say, which I am sure this post will warrant another response as well. I am glad for your success, but it really has no bearing on being a fan of UA or elevated you to a position to look down on others because they may have less or for whatever reason did not attend UA.

These type of statements are what come from rival fan bases.

quote:

Not the I wear tshirts that have bama on them from wal mart and play corn hole in the front of the trailer park before game time category.

(BTW) Walmart or Wal-Mart, t-shirts, cornhole

You automatically assume every crazy fan in our fan base fits into that criteria but I met many that are alum who I would not attend games with because of their behavior and will not subject my children to the spectacle they display. And just because you pretend they do not exist because they fall below your socio-economic status does not make them less of a fan. Any true fan no matter where they live or what they do for a living I will watch a game with as long as they share the same passion and do not go overboard to the extent as some have demonstrated for which this thread was based on. I do not require them to submit a resume so I can vet them prior to watching a game with me. Again that would be a sense of entitlement that I do not believe I rate or is required to be a true UA fan.
