I might be covering old ground, but the espn300 and other rankings are great, but fact of the matter is, the difference between the top 300 and the next 300 and the next 300 is negligible. I realize there are some special people at the top, but LSU has always done best with guys who don't have that Prima Donna complex. The rankings are obviously skewed especially now especially early in the player ranking process, but regardless, LSU wants great talent without the "I better play, just because I am in the top 300 or whatever". There is definitely a method behind the madness. Our recruiting class was as good as I have ever seen last year. This year is looking the same. Lots of humble guys who are looking to work very hard to win championships and get prepared for the NFL.

I do wish we could get our players to see they are giving up lots of money and draft position by going early. That needs to be our main goal, because IMHO, I think we have the talent, we just need to make sure they understanding that by staying throughout their Senior year, they improve their draft spot and if its first round vs a lower round its a much bigger contract and responsibilities. However I do realize that we will have very exceptional players who leave early, but leaving early to get drafted 3rd-7th rounds, or just to get added after the draft is not a great move. Especially if the player has extreme potential to help LSU compete for the NC and improve their draft stock greatly.

IMHO.

Thanks...

I do agree with all of that...but honestly, the players leaving early is an old issue and there is not much we can do about it...

Well, that's not true.

I'd get behind "the first 100 and the next 100," but I think the numbers will show that #150 will probably turn out better than #850

Not true. Three teams since the team class rankings have been put out have managed to pull in top classes in two out of three yr span. Each time it has led to multiple NC's for those teams. The teams were USC, UF, and Bama. USC had a natty vacated.

While guys in a state like la can be underrated, mainly because less people = less subscriptions, we should not stop recruiting the Patrick Peterson's or the Leonard fournettes, Kevin tolliver etc...
