Too lazy to retype, so I'm quoting from another thread:

quote:

My gut says 5-7, but something just keeps telling me we'll go 6-6. I think we'll go 4-0 in nonconference and win 2 of the 6 of Auburn, A&M, Georgia, the Mississippi schools, and LSU.

This is one of those crazy years full of team-by-team turnover where anything can happen in league play. We're catching Auburn at a good time because Marshall and Mincy will be benched for some or all of the game and they lost a good deal off that team; Alabama, LSU, A&M and Georgia all replace a lot of talent and experience at key positions (all are breaking in new QBs); and the Mississippi schools are the Mississippi schools.

I'm getting waaaaay ahead of myself given the size of the rebuilding effort and what we've seen the last two years, but I can honestly envision a scenario where we knock off Auburn and then proceed to win our next 4 and go into the Bama game 5-0.

My ever hopeful heart wants to say we win 6, my wildest imagination says 7, but my realistic side is going with...

5 wins, and much more competitive, most losses close.

Hope I am proven wrong. I do believe things are heading the right direction, and believe this year will confirm my belief.

Hogs have only lost to both Mississippi Schools in the same year 3 times since joining the SEC. 1992, 2012,2013 with a loss and a tie (tied State) in 1993.

We will knock one of them off this year.

Handicapping the Triple Crown races was easier I think but the water is not getting any warmer so may as well jump in now.

6-6 which is realistic I think; could win a couple more, could lose a couple more. So I'm thinking 8-4 at best, 4-8 at worst.

8-4 with a couple of shockers. And then a win in whatever bowl.

I'm thinking we'll be quite a bit better than last year...but short of winning more than one SEC game. The SEC West is going to be really strong.
