Im intrigued to see if alec morris sticks at punter. hes got to know hes not going to the nfl as a qb at this point, but he showed a pretty good leg in the spring. if he can become a solid and consistent punter who also is a legit passing threat, he could really turn that into a long a lucrative career.

When CNS spoke before A-day, he gave the impression that he's not expecting Morris to compete for the punting job. Similar situation a few years ago. Previous punter graduated, new punter hadn't enrolled yet so one of the OL handled punting duties during the spring.

I'd be fine with having 2 of them in the backfield but I don't see much point in having 2 of them split out wide

Ok, so I had some time and I haven't posted in a while. Obviously none of this will happen like I think but it's fun to speculate.

Alabama vs WVU
Alabama struggles early on offense, but looks great defensively. Second half focuses more on the run game and Bama pulls away 30-13.

FAU/Southern Miss at Alabama
Some flashes of promise against over-matched opponents, but just like every other Alabama team, the Tide play infuriatingly down to the level of the competition for most of 3 quarters. 38-3/35-7.

Florida at Alabama
Defensively, Florida repeatedly frustrates Alabama for 3 quarters, but can't capitalize on scoring opportunities. Alabama wins a tight 24-14 contest that leaves many fans unsettled.

Alabama at Ole Miss
Two weeks of "Alabama struggled against Florida at home, what happens when they face a better Ole Miss team on the road?" leads to the Tide coming out and putting up 24 points in the first half. Things get a little wild in the second half but Bama hangs on to win 31-17.

Alabama at Arkansas
Alabama stymies Arkansas' one-dimensional offense while exploiting their porous defense. 42-7

Texas A&M at Alabama
The bloom will already off the rose for the Aggies with 2 losses already at this point of their season. Their hopes of staying alive in the race for the SEC West crown are dashed for good as there is no lightning in a bottle this time. Bama 27-10

Alabama at Tennessee
The Vols hang close with Alabama for a half but inevitably shoot themselves in the foot with second half turnovers. Alabama 28-14

Alabama at LSU
Even though LSU's 2 losses make this game a little less compelling than it has been in the past, the atmosphere and pressure of Death Valley at night is still incredible. Alabama struggles mightily with 3 turnovers. The tight, defensive game comes down to the wire with Bama squeaking out a 17-13 victory.

Mississippi State at Alabama
Stupid MSU, why are you so annoying? A tired Alabama team gets a fourth quarter TD to finally get some breathing room 20-10.

Western Carolina at Alabama
Really? 34-0

Auburn at Alabama
Months of seeing the :01 play over and over makes the players want to come out and destroy Auburn. Unfortunately, they come out tight and get down early. Just when things look the worst, Alabama gets a huge defensive play to shake off the jitters. The Tide wins going away 31-16.

PA to Henry, backward pass to Drake, reverse to Yeldon who then runs an option with Henry.

We can do weird shite on O too.

I mean, we'd lose like 10 yards, but we could do it.

we really need the ol to play above their heads this year. this is gonna make or break our offense.

I just think we need then to play up to their ability. Cam rob is getting better at a ridiculous rate, should be a beast at LT by the time we get to the meat of the season. Kelly has put on some muscle, so hopefully we won't see him pushed into the pocket so often. Brown an sheppard actaully were working really well in the spring game. All of the successful 1st team runs were to the right behind them, against the best dline they will see this year. The big question is arie, if he can make a jump this year or if he gets replaced. It remains to be seen if dom jackson will have any impact on the starting lineup

If I had to guess this package involves motion into the backfield by one of them and then misdirection and play action.

Tennessee doesn't return a single starter on the offensive or defensive line. That game will be very ugly for them.

In light of some of the offseason stupidity of some of our players, who do you think will be suspended for WVU?

Candidates include:
-Tony Brown (BS arrest, but an arrest nonetheless)
-Altee Tencent (pot, charges dropped)
-Dylan Lee (DUI)
-Kenyan Drake (arrested for crossing the crime scene tape)
-Jarran Reed (DUI)

Probably none of them. Reed and Lee are the most likely. Tenpenny may be, but it wouldn't mean anything because he's not going to play.

I could see Drake sitting out just because this has been more of a pattern of behavior than an isolated incident.

True.

Personally against WVU, I wanna see us throw it around a bit. We're gonna stomp em, why not get live work on the passing game? Reps.

Of course Yeldon/Henry should each get like, 15 runs at least, but I wouldn't mind seeing Coker throw it around 30+ times in his debut. Just to get the reps in.

My guesses:

quote:

-Tony Brown (BS arrest, but an arrest nonetheless)

Not suspended

quote:

-Altee Tencent (pot, charges dropped)

Not officially suspended, but in doghouse and will not play a single snap.

quote:

-Dylan Lee (DUI)

Suspended

quote:

-Kenyan Drake (arrested for crossing the crime scene tape)

Not suspended and actually gets to play

quote:

-Jarran Reed (DUI)

Suspended

Its hard to make any kind of solid prediction about this season until we see what we have at QB. Captain Obvious statement but Coker could have all the tools but be weak mentally. We just don't know yet.

The Florida and Ole Miss games will set the tone for the season. A lot of teams will be smelling blood in the water considering how things ended for us last year and the fact that we'll be breaking in a new QB.

In the end, the season is going to be defined by only 1 game: Auburn.
