I hope we offered money. That'd be awwwwwesome. I miss the Harrick-era corruption.

We need some decent size this class. Maten is our only super tall player and he'll need to develop, and it'll be difficult for our other "bigs" because they will be shorter than everyone else. Fox teaches rebounding beautifully so I don't see that being a huge issue, but we will be fricking bullied down low unless we either
A. Get in good enough shape that you're outclassing your competition
B. Get some height in that can put on some muscle

Will Jackson is a little further down that list at the moment. Another player similar to Jackson who we are very high on is Hannif Cheathem from Florida. We are in his final 6, he is visiting for the clemson game and people are saying the favorites are UGA, FSU and Marquette. Very good player

And with Mack, Fox recruited and coached his older brother at Nevada so he already had a great relationship and trust within the family. If I had to guess I would say Mack commits any time between now and the beginning of the school year, and Beasley commits during the early signing period in November.
Doral Moore would be on that list right with Gidden, both were high on us for awhile but almost guaranteed they both go elsewhere.

With only 3 scholarships open I bet we take 2 of these perimeter players and 1 taller 5 man style of post player.

Looks like Fox is doing a little bit of work. We just need to seal the deal unlike a couple of years ago when all those top guys had us close and chose UCLA

I'm not getting my hopes up because the odds are stacked against us but Jaylen Brown tweeted today that he had a great talk with Coach Fox. We are definitely still in the running. Don't expect that one but he would be a big time 1 and done.

I'm glad to know Fox is doing his job. Keep in mind, no one really gave us a shot in hell at landing KCP. I honestly think JB is a once every 10 years type player. He's definitely a lottery pick. Here's our current roster:

5 Tim Dixon 6-10 230 F/C JR Columbus, Ga./Oldsmar Christian
42 Nemanja Djurisic 6-8 230 F JR Podgorica, Montenegro/South Kent
10 Taylor Echols 6-1 160 G JR McDonough, Ga./Eagles Landing Christian
11 Cameron Forte 6-7 220 F SO Tempe, Ariz./McClintock
30 J.J. Frazier 5-10 150 G FR Glennville, Ga./Faith Baptist Christian
12 Kenny Gaines 6-3 195 G SO Atlanta, Ga./Whitefield Academy
25 Kenny Paul Geno 6-6 200 F FR Booneville, Miss./Booneville, Miss.
24 Houston Kessler 6-8 225 F RS FR Newnan, Ga./Landmark Christian
20 Dusan Langura 6-4 210 G FR Romont, Switzerland/Furtah Prep
4 Charles Mann 6-5 210 G SO Alpharetta, Ga./Milton
31 Brandon Morris 6-7 215 F SO Lithonia, Ga./Miller Grove
3 Juwan Parker 6-4 200 G FR Tulsa, Okla./Booker T. Washington
2 Marcus Thornton 6-8 235 F RS JR Atlanta, Ga./Westlake
15 Donte' Williams 6-9 225 F SR Ellenwood, Ga./Miller Grove
14 Brandon Young 5-10 160 G FR Atlanta, Ga./Marist

In order to sign 4, who's going to be sacafriced goat?

Note: Tim Dixon is no longer with team.

No doubt JB is a big time talent. He is a for sure one and done. Type of kid you can't give up on recruiting.

if we sign 4 and have to get rid of 1 it will either be somebody who is upset about there spot in the rotation or it will be Houston. it is his 3rd year, if he isn't in the rotation yet you cant waste a scholarship on him since they are so limited. Great kid but not an SEC player. Coached against him his senior year and was shocked when UGA offered him. Rooting for him but dont expect much.

and the sacrifice couldn't be Echols cause he is a walk- on FYI.

So what does our starting line up look like?

1- Frazier
2- mann
3- Gaines
4- Tornton
5- Maten?

and improved Jabrari Parker would be a good 6th man. Forte as well.

I would say if somebody leaves it would either be kessler or whoever loses the PT battle between Forte and Geno. There were over 500 transfers in D1 hoops this year so Crow is definitely right about the odds of having a transfer.

and as far as the lineup goes here is my guess:

1: Mann
2: Gaines
3: Morris
4: Nemi in November, Maten by SEC play
5: Thornton

Then Frazier and Juwan Parker will get a lot of minutes and allow Fox to really play with some different lineups for matchup reasons. I think we will see more of JJ playing with Chuck at the same time, and could see Parker play some 3 to get more shooters on the court.
Forte/Geno backing up Morris. Maybe 1 of those 3 see minutes as the 4 man. And Iduwe getting a few minutes as the 4th post player. Easily Fox's deepest team. Arguably his most experienced team as well.

You really think Maten will take over Nemi's spot this year?

forgot morris and nemi

really think Frazier should be point, though. Mann needs to be a dywane wade type player...drive the basket. he doesnt need to be on the ball.

for spacing...maybe have Nemi over Marcus, but against teams that have a low post presence thorton and Maten, if he develops well enough, would be nasty with Frazier, Gaines, and Mann.

Maten reminds me of Anthony Evans. It will take him a year or 2 to add some muscle but I see him playing in the league one day. He has tons of potential.

Depending on the signing class... it could change.
I see it as:

Mann
Gaines
Morris
Thornton
Nemi

Maybe a Beasley or Brown thrown in there if they sign with us.

Last year I predicted 4. I had no idea the SEC would be so shitty. I got us winning 7-9 games in the conference, but with a much better OOC record. Keep in mind the Preseason NIT will feature teams such as Gonzaga, Minnesota, and St. Johns. We also have OOC games of KSU and Colorado. 7-9 wins in league with a good OOC record against some quality opponents, and maybe a win or 2 in the conference tournament should guarantee at least an NIT slot. At best a 9-12 seed in NCAAT.

Stateline can't stand the over-infested disney portrayed posters on this board. He can't stomach the fact that our programs are on the rise, CMR is still our Football coach, and Herrick is still fired.
