I just don't think you end up being widely regarded as the best WR prospect in the country, and getting recruited like it if you don't look impressive in an actual game.

I don't know man. David Ricky was a monster. It would be tough to be on another level athletically, unless PW is Randy Moss 2.0

Well maybe "another level athletically" was a bit strong but I do think he's more athletic than Da'Rick. Da'Rick was the strongest high school receiver I've ever seen but I think Preston has him beat in speed, jumping ability, hands and the fluidity that he moves with. He's also playing against much better competition than what Da'Rick was facing.

“Tennessee is where I want to be, and I always wanted to be there at the end of the day,” said Williams, who’s ranked by 247Sports as the nation’s No. 20 overall prospect and No. 1 wide receiver in the 2015 class. “That’s my school, my family.” The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Williams visited Clemson, Florida, Georgia and Auburn within a span of less than five weeks in February and March, and he said at the time that he was “still open” but “still committed” to Tennessee. But he admitted that he recently had been thinking “for a while” about closing the door on other schools, and he finally decided to take that step last week. “Tennessee was my favorite school growing up,” Williams said. “When I first went there, I kind of got a good vibe off of it. I feel comfortable there, and it’s somewhere I can play for the next four years.

“I knew I wanted to be there at the end of the day.” Williams said it doesn’t hurt that his fiancee’s decision to enroll at Tennessee this fall is now “final,” and that’s at least “part” of the reason he chose to shut down his recruitment.

So pretty much he said the same thing he’s been saying all along. I’m glad you were able to clear this up for everyone.

Also, can we bump this thread this weekend when he updates Rivals on his status? TIA

Is it worse than UGA fans slobbering over pictures of a 2014 RB recruit finishing 5th place in a highschool race?

I mean, at least this was a content update.

You mean a 230lb running back that finished 5 in Georgia class 4A? What was the point of that statement and how is it relative to THIS thread

That thread wasn't from a UGA fan, bro.

I thought that was what you said.

You said you went to see him and he didn't stick out.

I said I saw two off games. I never said those were the ones he sent in.

You're gonna sit there and seriously try to get me to buy the idea that every single coaching staff that offered him sat down, watched ONLY the same 2 games, and offered. No live scouts, no more footage was requested, no coaches were questioned about his game.

You're an idiot if you don't think potential plays a factor in recruiting.

It's probably very likely every school was sent the same two full games.

I saw this in a Rivals article about Williams earlier and found it pretty interesting

quote:

"According to Williams, the engagement ring that made things official was financed by money he made in the fashion world. He owns and operates Crazy Eight Models, an eight-member agency based in Georgia. His fiancé works for the agency as a model and the two occasionally do shows and photo shoots together."

not worried. other 5* recruits like Kahlil gets all the attention with hats and Preston might feel a little bit left out.

PW committed very early. 5* #1 WR for 2015 is a hot commodity and a young 5* kid might want some of that red carpet treatment from bunch of other schools as well. I don't see PW breaking relationship, especially how comfortable he is with all the coaches and other recruits. Butch will treat him well and that's part of the job. NFL coaches don't have to suck off to 5* kids before NSD but college coaches do.
