Lsu players have more room for growth, part of the reason why. Alabama is in general a better coached team

While LSU's defense is coached very well, I think some of the scheming Saban employs helps to mask some weaknesses of individual players.

It's still a lazy troll. If anything, you could argue that Alabama players have more miles on them and arrive a little banged up.

THIS X1000. This is a tired argument and I'm not even sure what outcome people are striving for by constantly bringing this up about Bama.

If LSU players win 3 our of 4 national titles and not a single one is even drafted ask me if I give a shite. I care about winning for my team, not some random NFL team.

Cowherd has been one of the best in the sports talk business for a while. Just because you are a Gump and don't like him doesn't change that.

Well who do you think from LSU has been a better pro than they were a college player?

Danny McCray and Trindon Holiday come to mind instantly.

But it's not like it's some epidemic. And McCray wasn't coached by any of our current defensive staff. Not sure about Holiday and the offensive staff.

It is time to get over it.

Oh you played on that team? Interdasting

I'm no LSU fan, but I love Bama fans constantly throwing around "21-0 PAWLLLLLL!!" as if that was the only football game ever played anywhere ever and they all logged PT.

Different OC, different RB coach, different WR coach.

Stud was the last coach that was around while Holiday was here.

Still, I don't think there was much more that could have been done with him at LSU. He's better in the NFL because he only does one thing there and his skills have developed accordingly.

And McCray was asked to do things at LSU that were completely beyond his capability.

So it's official. Saban gets more out of his players than Miles, whose players underachieve while playing for him.

This x 1000,The Gumps have been selling Bama on this claim when in fact it's not the case.

I think the current sell is this:

Not so much long term NFL success, but rather "we'll get you to the NFL, even though you might have to take a pay cut."

Obviously. He's a better coach than Miles. His dominance as a CFB coach has caused the state to get even trashier (wasn't sure it was possible) and it's fricking hilarious in every sense of the word.

I feel the exact same way about Bama. I want our players busting their arse while they wear the Bama jersey. Means very little to me if they become millionaire NFL players.

How long do you think that will last after an unsuccessful stint in the NFL?

Probably not very long. But seeing as how 11 of our 14 first round draft picks are currently starters on their respective teams - I guess that's a moot point.

And you're a dumbazz too.

Cowherd says something one week, and then totally disagrees the very next week with what he says last week.

andre smith-one of the better RTs in the game
glen coffee-inexplicably retired, not from lack of production
antoine caldwell-bust(ish) stayed in the league 4 years
rashaad johnson-ok career so far. not a bust
rolando mclain-bust for non football reasons. head case, was amazing saban could turn this lunatic into a great player while at bama
kareem jackson-solid career so far.
javier arenas-ok career so far for a 5'9" cb, still in the league making rosters
terrence cody-solid career so far. has a superbowl ring, has been a starter.
mike johnson-projected started who keeps getting injured.
marquis johnson-dont know if a 7th round pick can be a bust for getting waived
brandon deadrick-on injured reserve, played pretty well for the pats, picked up by the jags. not bad for a 7th round pick, still in the league.
marcell dareus- pro bowler
julio jones-pro bowler, probably best receiver in the league when healthy
james carpenter- solid career. starter, has a superbowl ring
mark ingram- injured early on, not really in a system where he can thrive, shows flashes and then gets taken out of the game. needs more carries. could be great somewhere that knows how to and is committed to running the football
greg mcelroy- never got a shot inexplicably, considering the qb situation in NY. was a 7th round pick.
trent richardson- too early to call a bust, rushed for almost 1000 yards at cleveland despite being literally the only offensive weapon on the team, had zero time to learn colts system before the 2013 season. got picked twice in 1st round, so somebody thinks hes worth it
mark barron- starter, off to a good start, will probably be a pro bowler at some point in the future.
dre kirkpatrick- injured early. looked pretty good at times in 2013, especially in the int department. will be a good pro player if healthy.
donta hightower-very good career so far, starter. led the team in tackles in 2013.
courtney upshaw- solid contributor, won a superbowl. best football still ahead of him.
josh chapman-was injured to start career, had solid 2013 season. He played 13 games in 2013 making 20 tackles and 1 pass defended. not a bust
dequan menzie-still in the league (sort of, future option. probably doesnt have the speed for corner in the nfl
brad smelley-cut by the browns, picked up by houston. still in the league
dee milliner- starter, bumpy start but really came on towards the end of the season. probably has a pro bowl in the future
chance warmack-immediate starter, started 16 games as a rookie. sky is the limit
dj fluker- good so far. starter as a rookie, looks like he will develop into one of the better RTs in the game
eddie lacy- great. pro bowler
nico johnson-too early to tell, hasnt seen enough action to make any determination yet
barett jones- was injured to start career. no reason to think he wont make it, guy has been successful at everything he has ever done
jesse williams- injured
quinton dial-injured
michael williams-injured

not many true busts on this list. some guys are out of the league, but most were late picks or injured (or both). Ro is the true main bust, and his problems had nothing to do with football. if he didnt have mental issues he could be one of the best players in the game. Some guys like trent had terrible situations.
