Idk why Alabama fans get so defensive about Alabama players in the NFL. Some of these guys haven't lived up to their potential or draft position, big deal guys. I will say though, some of the LSU and Auburn fans make yourselves look like morons when dogging some of these Bama players.

Saban at Alabama has sent some guys on to overachieve their asses off. R Johnson and Arenas should thank their lucky stars they had Saban as a coach. And he warned K Jackson that he wasn't ready to go to the NFL.

Btw did anybody think Dre would make an impact? I know I didn't, although he's kinda trying to prove me wrong.

Dee should be pretty good. Barron is gonna be really good. Lester isn't a disappointment at all, maybe even outplaying his talent.

Dareus will have a VERY solid career. So will Hightower. Many others are and will have good careers plus some really good guys on offense.

Why so much hate?

Exactly. Saban must be a great coach.

And yet I'm positive helmet hair had McClain as his #1 linebacker in the draft.

Either way, it doesn't say anything about Alabama or Saban.

You are correct. I didn't see anywhere where Kiper said anything negative about bama or saban. This isn't about saban or bama. This is about players from bama who don't live up to the number they were drafted at. In all honesty, it's not just on the D side of the ball. It does seem that several of the O players are living up to they hype, julio and lacy, but there have been some O guys that are perceived as bust's.

I think Saban rides pure talent and develops player less than some coaches.

I think most of those players would have been just as good pretty much anywhere they went.

Obviously it works in College, putting the most talent out on the field is 60% of the game if you ask me.

No, no it's not. YOU are trying to make it about saban.

#ESPN Mel Kiper said all of the recent #Alabama defensive players have been "major disappointments!" #SEC McClain, K. Jackson, Cody et al.

I don't see saban mentioned one time. I don't see any subliminal messages about saban. If you do, it might be time to adjust your tinfoil hat.

Otherwise this thread wouldn't have been started by an Auburn fan on the SEC Rant.

I tried to make this thread about Arkansas' poorly-coached football team using a witty one-liner but it didn't work.

Sorry, guys.

I think he is just saying that bama players have been rated higher than they should the last several years. It is hard to argue with that, unless you are a bama fan. There have been some bama players who are playing solid, but very few are playing up to their draft position.

I have seen some of the NFL people complaining about some of them not knowing proper technique but I don't get why the scouts can't see that on their film from college or if they just draft them on ability. Then they use that as the reason they are still behind after a while.

I already noted that most of us get too worked up about this subject when there is truth to some of it. But you started the thread for 1 reason. Which isn't a big deal btw. I enjoy this topic. But you acting all confused why we'd think you have shite for intentions is stupid.

As for the thread, Alabama fans overlook some of the lack of great play once some of these guys hit the NFL. And non Alabama fans nearly reach full retard when this subject is brought up.

I really thought this was a good topic of discussion and I am confused by all the bama defense systems going in full def con 5 mode???

What intentions were behind posting the thoughts of Mel Kiper?

Dang, you mean Alabama's been producing all those great D's with inferior, undeveloped kids?
