That is because, unlike football, college "baseball" is a sport in which having a .55 winning percentage is acceptable.

In fairness, our university only informed us this year that we had a baseball team.

We have a what??? You must mean softball. UT has a Softball team. UT doesn't play baseball...do they?

Actually the team isn't there so it isn't practice. More like a midnight pep rally.

So in any given week LSU will average 12,500 for their midweek game and weekend series?

No. Midnight Yell happens the midnight before every home game in the fall.

We call the Spring game the Maroon and White game, but we didn't have one this year due to renovations.

We call cheers "yells." So we are practicing cheers.

Imagine your high school cheerleading squad at a pep rally. They are all the front of the auditorium/gym cheering things like "Give me an A!" or "Go Team!!!!" right?

Now imagine EVERYONE in the auditorium cheering those exact same cheers along with the cheerleader, word-for-word as if they were all singing together in church.

Now take that memory and make the crowd much much bigger, turn all the cheerleaders into men, and turn all the students tuning out into the vice principal that is hanging on every part of the celebration. Now make it midnight and you got a good idea of the basics of Midnight Yell.
