Since Saban took over Alabama, Auburn is only .500 against Kentucky

Since Saban took over Alabama, Vandy also has a winning record over Auburn.
Since Petrino wrecked his bike Arkansas has a losing record to LaMo & Rutgers.

See, we can all cherry pick time frames for useless stats.

Did Saban lose to AU in 2013? frick! 2010 and 2013 are the worst choke jobs of his career, too. Dude cracks under that pressure.

To answer seriously......Les is unpredictable. Saban is not a great X's and O's coach. He is a Jimmy Johnson clone. I have heard Jimmy Johnson say numerous times that he wasn't a great X's and O's guy. His strength was evaluating talent. That is saban in a nutshell, IMO. He's not going to out-coach you very often. He is going to bring better talent into the game most times. Les takes crazy chances that seem to work most of the time. saban's crazy chances seem to backfire on him. That is my take on it anyway.

Auburn has sucked for the exception of three years while les has been at lsu. Saban has had one bad season.
That isn't true. We did not suck in 05 and 07 and nearly beat LSU twice in Death Valley in those years.

Not sure you really want a legit discussion or not, but I think there could be a few reasons:

Bounce of the ball in close games (doesn't necessarily have to do with Saban versus Miles, more of an anomoly that can produce seemingly surprising results when you carve out particular data sets). Sometimes you have good/bad days, sometimes the other team has good/bad days.

Saban took on two rebuilding projects during this time period

Intensity of Alabama - Auburn rivalry (I feel like one of Saban's attributes is to build a pretty steady workmanlike team that usually have very successful seasons but sometimes I don't think they always match the extra intensity of the other side in big rivalry games)

Saban's relative struggle against the HUNH / spread teams / mobile QBs (really would just apply to the 2013 loss mostly, maybe 2010)
