I just don't see how that's relevant for a weekend trip. If you're moving there, yeah - be prepared for tumbleweeds.

I am still planning on going. It will be 2 months after I have this kid and I will be back at work, so hello work trip to kick off returning back to the job.

Yes, the entire south plains is shitty. I just got back from a work trip there and no it hasn't changed over the past almost 9 years a bit. Same wind, same dust, same ugly terrain, but you'll never meet a nicer town of people. The aggies are full of shite so don't listen to a thing they say. I absolutely despise the south plains, but I'd take those people any day over Bryan/College Station asses. Let me be clear in that the only reason I will be going is b/c I can expense the air and car rental as a work trip.

I guess some people just like to avoid shitty places for any amount of time when they can.

Was in Aspen with a girl from Lubbock and she saw a pair of Buddy Hollys boots on display at the HR Cafe, and lost her fooking mind. Thought she was going to break the case.

I remember when the lubbock aiport honored bob knight. They had the giant chess board with knights on it & large pics everywhere. They don't have much out there. They cling to what they can.
