And I think we could see close to 60/40 this season as a whole. We have to throw enough to interest Elite WR talent so that we have that weapon opposing D's have to account for.

I could see us only throwing 9 passes the entire game again this year just so that when we face someone like LSU the passing game will be a complete unknown for them.

We definitely won't be displaying the entire offense against arKansas. We'll keep it as vanilla as we can as long as we can.

JMO but I don't think so. Duke will want the dad gum ball. If he don't get it he has the temperment to mouth of to recruits about it and cause some issues.

Yep, and I don't believe coaches do that either. Obviously Gus showed that last year, make a gameplan and do it. Win and recruits will come.

You care about what the recruits will think way too much. You recruit around your gameplan. You don't gameplan around your recruiting.

I'm sure some veteran players on the team will shut him up if that happens, he'll get his though.

He could have simply done that at A Day also but the plays Nick was in there we threw more than ran. We will pass it more. Even if that's only 40% a game that will be 30+ pass plays a game considering how many plays we will be running a game. That should be enough to keep Duke happy and change our image with high school WR recruits.

I agree with that but when you are going to beat the complete shite out of teams like we will 4-6 times this year you might as well use those 4-6 beat downs as an opportunity to change the image with WR recruits since it will not jeopardize a W in those situations.

No question about that. But Arky is an SEC game. Gus is going to want to see how Nick, and the other guys for that matter, have progressed and handle things when the lights are on. We did what we did against Arky last season because the coaches figured out that's what we did best by that point of the season. I don't expect Gus to throw the entire playbook at bert, but I think it will be far from vanilla. Gus loves to give opposing DC's things to think about.

You don't go in the game with the mindset that we're going to beat the shite out of them though. You build a lead up before you start messing with shite.

Recruits would never cross my mind during a game. Not even if we're up 50.

From an ARKANSAS perspective, I don't know about the game plan, but if I was bert I would try to stir up as much crap about Auburn and Gus as I could dream up and then...

no wait...

Of course ellitor's thoughts are always centered around recruiting.

I don't give a damn if Duke gets the ball or not. I just want to do whatever it takes to win and I'd imagine our coaching staff feels the same way.

Watched some of their spring game. I think we should be OK if we play our game.

This

I don't think we change a lot. We may throw it "more" than last year but that is not saying a lot. Gus will not reinvent the wheel. You guys need to go back and watch last years games. The running game was and will be very good.

Gus likes to run the ball and pass as a option. He took a 3-9 team to the BCS National Championship game last year by running the ball down peoples throats. We have a veteran offensive line and a very mobile QB. If he comes out slinging the ball, I will be disappointed.

I'd run the read option forever until bert shows he can stop it...and I'd run it as fast as possible in the heat.
