The Tennessee one looks like they ran out of money and ideas and said "frick it. Record this woman singing to a baby"

SEC Network should fire their video team immediately. All of those were pretty bad but the UK one was especially terrible. No hype. No real representation of tradition. Expected to feel a some pride. Not even a half chub.
I is Disappoint.

I thought Ole Miss, State, Texas A&M, South Carolina and Florida were all very good.

Those are all really good for the most part. Not trying to flame.....Arky's was a bit weak, IMO. Having some guy in overalls teach woo pig is why I say this. Ehhh on Mizzou's also. Sorry yinz yank's.
For any A&M folk......how is it decided which cadet takes care of Lassie?

Did the LSU one have STTDB in it? If not, meh.

After rewatching them I would have to say South Carolina's is the best.

Good question, I always assumed all schools mascots were raised by professionals not students or was this just for the commercial

I agree. It doesn't mean as much unless you realize the mother was a cheerleader at UT, the Baby's father was a walk-on became a starter and captain (and was a 3x academic All-SEC linebacker at UT), and his grandfather was All-American at UT and was a Pro-Bowler for the Vikings.

No, I have read some things about this. Some cadet takes care of Lassie dog. Lassie dog goes everywhere with cadet. If Lassie dog barks in class, class is over immediately. Last year Lassie dog barked in class once. I don't remember the article mentioning how the cadet is chosen though.

What the SEC commercials should have focused on:
quote:
Alabama's = Updyke and dead trees at Auburn
Arkansas's = Bert, Bert and more Bert
Auburn's = We throw toilet paper in trees...well, we used to.
Florida's = We wear Jort Jorts
UGA's = Some nice footage of Helen Hunt would suffice
Kentucky = Come and enjoy your 1 year of college with us
LSU's = Night games and corndogs
Ole Miss = We've won an SEC title within the last 60 years
MSU = Our uniforms might look like aTm...but we aren't them
Mizzou = the commercial was pretty gay...can't think of anything more appropriate.
South Carolina = Spurrier man-boobs and Hootie
UT = just a picture of a dumpster on fire with Rocky Top in the background
A&M = Jizz Jars and the milkman
Vandy = something featuring James Franklin

I'm pleased with the A&M one

There is one Corps of Cadets outfit (E-2, an Army ROTC unit) that is responsible for the care of Reveille. The cadet who takes Reveille everywhere is the Mascot Corporal (always a sophomore--usually the freshman from the year before that was the best of his peers in a variety of demonstrable ways).
I honestly don't know if the barking in class tradition is still followed. The reveille before this current one (when I was in school) was ill-behaved and barked constantly so profs started ignoring her

Thanks for that info Tbird!

They're all pretty good except Mizzou's is kinda weird but overall excellent work and I'm gonna be so pissed if it's not carried on DirectTv from day 1
just call, bitch, threaten to cancel....then ask for NFL Sunday Ticket for free.
i did this when they were in disputes with certain networks awhile back and stopped running them. Except i blamed it on my wife.

Those profs should be glad y'all chose a lassie dog even if she was misbehaving. Imagine if y'all had a Smokey dog let loose a howl in class. The entire building would clear out.
