Ahh, "The Shocker"
The move that rarely gets you a second date, and if it does, don't bring her home to meet your mother.
Employed mainly by flat brims and other riff raff.
Total "bro move" IMO.
Next you'll tell me you have the sticker on your slammed Honda Civic.

People in St Louis like Mizzou. Maybe not as much as Kansas City or Columbia, but I think youre over-exaggerating. It can be shown by how many parents are sending their kids there per year, the amount is actually ridiculous. Also, sports wise, there is quite a bit of fan support in STL. St Louis is just filled with shitty writers, that shouldnt be representative of the fans or regular people there.

All of that is eminently true.

I don't use this move. I use the Devastator - the exact opposite of the Shocker.

Catholics hate public educational systems? I don't think they hate Mizzou but more than likely hate Mizzou sports because they are commies and nerds who got beat up by jocks in HS. Plus it's cool within their wine and cheese pretentious crowd to hate sports.

Bauer, Wingo, Abeln and Penton agree with you.

To be fair, the KC media doesn't really have too many pro-Mizzou guys either. Why aren't there more Mizzou-friendly media in either city? Do all the j-school grads leave there pissed off at the school or something? Of all the talking heads on sports radio here in KC, I only know of one Mizzou guy and he has maybe one of the most annoying beakers in the whole damn city as his sidekick. I don't think any of the writers at the ku star went to Mizzou. I could be wrong.

Meh. Devastator Shmevastator. I give her a little something I call "the Omega Supreme."

Mizzou for a while in football and was never super great in basketball for the time most of these guys were out making their way through school and into the positions they're in. Fandom and passion isn't instant with a lot of people and Mizzou was a joke for a good part of these people's lives.
As a townie, when I was in Columbia, it was uncool to like Mizzou. Nobody wore anything Mizzou in school because it was a cause for people to make fun of you. I don't imagine it's the same now, but that stuff takes time to change.
Give it a few years for the kids from the past ten years to trickle their way into the major media and I'm sure it will change. Add that to the new t-shirt/sidewalkers being made every year and it's almost sure to change.

There is more than just Carrington. Off the top of my head I know Steven St. John and Doug Stewart. We've got Jack Harry on TV. There's a handful of guys but definitely the media isn't the most Mizzou-friendly here.

Oh shite! Even I won't go there. You have to be a real sick individual to allow someone to use jalepenos...

I forgot about Carrington. I was thinking about St. John and his sidekick Bukaty. St. John is good, but I really can't stand that beaker douche.

Interesting. Most people seem more taken aback by the use of a live ferret than the jalapenos, but to each their own, some folks don't like spicy...

Gotcha. I'm a late riser so I only catch the afternoon shows (Kietzman or Parkins/Carrington)
However, you're right that the kU Star doesn't hire Mizzou writers
