You should add Ohio State to the fourth tier with as many transplanted alumni as have moved here.

They are 5th tier. There are as many Penn St, Nebraska, Michigan, and Irish fans as there are bucknuts. They can't stand their godforsaken hometowns. But they love their football.

I'm not saying that UGA will leave the SEC.

They split the polls, winning the coach's poll by a single vote over the AP poll winner, most likely due to pity after the 5th Down Game. They played the #21 ranked team in the country in the Citrus (Capital One) bowl.

They were top 10 in 09 and the local sports radio still hardly ever talked about them.

And they lost the only game that anyone affiliated with the program even halfway cares about. YOu will never in your life see a major conference school be so dejected about winning their division and eventually playing in the orange bowl than the 09 tech team.

I still can't believe they lost to freakin' Joe Cox.

Well, technically the reason they lost was their run defense. Cox only threw for 76 yards that game, while we rushed for about 340. Ealey had about 180 and King about 160. It was weird, both of those guys had career games in the same game. Tech just absolutely could not stop our run game.
And then at the end, in such textbook typical tech fashion, driving with the ball down 6 with a few minutes to go, they throw it to their star WR who would get taken high in the NFL draft and tear up the NFL, only to see it clank off his hands and fall harmlessly to the ground. This is tech football.
