Let's not get carried away here, GT is an outstanding school but certainly is trying to win at football. Two probations over the past decade speaks to that.

I grant your point (to a degree) regarding option football not being exciting to most modern football fans. However, Tech went to a BCS bowl in 2009 with the option and Tech fans were plenty happy.

Auburn did "ok" last year with an updated version of option football and their fans seemed to enjoy last season. P. Johnson is a stubborn man and he simply won't commit to updating his precious triple option. Vad Lee left the program for that reason.

With Chan Gailey's players and competent WRs.

I've been on the fire CPJ bandwagon since 2010.

could not win 8 games but he has a good amount of his players in the NFL.

That offense is a joke and he will be gone in two years.

Right. Throw in NFL talent from those 06/07 classes on an offense that people hadn't figured out yet, and you go to the Orange Bowl.

Have your offense figured out and never field a good defense, and run out of NFL talent because no one likes you, and you have a situation like this. Only reason he hasn't been fired is the Hewitt contract situation, IMO. Or there better not be another reason.

Peel the bandaid off now. Get a burner coach that we can fire in a few years after he's atleast recruited the right sized/skill typed players and build from there.

2020 WE COMIN!!!

gt & UGA are tied for 2nd behind FSU for longest current bowl game streaks IIRC at 17 games. Not a chest thumping stat but one that shows you are at least consistently mediocre...

This thread is kinda ironic, seeing as how Tech has won a legit NC more recently than 9 of the 14 current SEC members.

Including their instate rival.

Georgia Tech has a very small fan base but they endeavor to make up for it by acting like ginormous flaming d-bags.

I feel like their plan to cater to the asian demographic was a sound idea because of their numbers but GT never counted on the fact that their allegiances would shift more toward D&D/math

I see they had 117 fans make it to their Spring Game.

You do know that's INCLUDING the team!

Isn't GT like the 4th most represented fan base in Atlanta?

I understand that the nature of what the academics are would take a good % of it's alumni out of the city but to be a school that has always been in a major conference and has respectable history it's kind of sad how little exposure it gets in it's own city.. especially if you start throwing the pro teams in there.

Tier 1
UGA

Tier 2
Auburn
Alabama
Georgia Tech

Tier 3
Florida
Georgia State

Tier 4
Tennessee
Florida State
Clemson
maybe Georgia Southern

No other major school really comes close to these 4 tiers
