The international group of people on the space station might beg to differ with you. They know exactly where Auburn is because AU is responsible for much of their success. Oh yeah, Apple Computer says hello Put on your Walmart bammer tshirt and axe some big woman to marry you

hey now, why all the hate on us new guys?
btw I did get in before the UGA game. I had never heard of the rant, just Tiger droppings, so i was stuck with al.com, espn.com which is akin to talking to people commenting on a youtube video and the ajc.com. which really sucks and i went looking for a better place.
I am still hopeful to find that better place.

You've just got to understand the degree of apathy attached to the institution as a whole. Nobody outside the Auburn "family" gives a damn about them...hell, people outside the southeastern US don't even know where they're located. They yearn for recognition, and have to beat their own drum to get folks to notice....that's why they refer to themselves as "family"...it's them against the world.
Yeah, I'm certain 95% of the people in the country don't know what state Auburn University is in.
And I'm sure 25% of the country knows what state the University of Alabama is in, but 98% have no idea what city. And if you told them the city, they'd laugh because it sounds funny.
Same with identifying what city UGA is in, or USCe, or UT, or Ole Miss, or Miss St, or LSU and so on. Every SEC school except Vanderbilt is in a nationally insignificant town.
You know what's funny, I'd say 99.8% of the country would get Miami University wrong. Well actually, that's okay. What's funny is if you asked about the University of Miami only 80% would probably get it right.

Another moronic comment by said moron. I guarantee you that most people in this country (in or out of any geographic region) do not know where Notre Dame is....or Duke....or Stanford....or Harvard....or Yale....or Baylor...or TCU...etc. I bet you are not intelligent enough to figure out why either. If you don't believe that, just ask the person nearest you at this moment.
The irony of your post is that it is the sidewalk, trailer trash fans such as yourself that latched on to "alabammmer" because it was the name of the state in which your trailer resides. Regardless of what idiotic drivel you will respond with you and I both KNOW that I am correct.

Do you know what hyperbole means?
hy·per·bo·le
[hahy-pur-buh-lee]
noun Rhetoric .
1. obvious and intentional exaggeration.
2. an extravagant statement or figure of speech not intended to be taken literally, as “to wait an eternity" or "his foot was a big as a barge."
But if you want a genuine examples and statistics about how bad Americans are at geography:

Considering the city of Auburn, AL has by far the highest number of mobile homes per capita of any SEC city, you should really move on to a new stereotype to make yourself feel better about being an AU fan.

quote:Yeah you're definition matches what I learned in middle school. Did I use it incorrectly? Clearly you're exaggerating with those dumbass numbers.
Do you know what hyperbole means?
quote:Only 25%?
25% of the country knows what state the University of Alabama is in
Do they other 75% think its in Arkansas?
quote:So you're saying only around 7 million people know what city UA is in. There's 4.8 million people in the state of Alabama alone. Combine that with the number of living alumni from all Alabama colleges/universities plus their immediate families and ALL SEC/most CFB fans and you have WAY more than 2% of the country. You're a retard.
but 98% have no idea what city
