So basically it's a ranking of coaches in a one year bubble and not their entire body of work.

Lsoign 3 rose bowls and getting his dick pushed in in the SEC isn't a great resume.

Once Saban leaves, I agree, UF is easily the best job in the SEC.

Saban being there or not doesn't affect how good of a job Alabama and Florida are respectively IMO.

Anyway, I do think Florida is the best job in the SEC but it isn't a set in stone "it will always be this way" kind of opinion.

If UGA or A&M were to experience some serious and sustained success while continuing to invest in their football infrastructure they could make an argument because both are in states with serious football talent (UGA having no serious in state rival and A&M having only one big brother, but the advantage of being in the SEC to set themselves apart). LSU and Alabama are special jobs as well given LSU's ultimate "big fish in a small but talent rich pond" status and Alabama's status as the most storied football program in the south.

RE: The rankings in the OP? I don't think it much matters. I do think Saban deserves to be ranked #1 on the basis of his achievements over the last 15 years. I wouldn't put Spurrier #2 given the length of time since he's won a conference championship but he's still a very fine coach. Richt vs Les could be a debate worth having or just ignoring since both seem to know how to sustain success in a very competitive SEC.

Florida is the best school in the SEC because it is a real school and embraces all sports - including women...and wins National Championships across the board...all sports.

First class commitment.

Florida is like a Pac-12 school.

RollTide1987 Athlon Ranking All 128 College Football Head Coaches for 2014 It's easy to win at both UF and UA. Shula and DuBose both managed to have 10-win seasons for Pete's sake.

Will Muschamp made the Sugar Bowl at Florida and he makes Shula and Dubose look like legends.
