Hard to believe it is so bad the way Bama has recruited.

I'm not shocked by the QB situation.

Losing out on Winston, in our own back yard...

Yeah that was two years ago, but it would have made all the difference right now.

We'll see. I think Winston would have beat out AJ so Coker may be just serviceable enough to not mess things up.

I watched Coker and AJ all though high school. If I was recruiting I would take Coker. Bama will be fine at qb. Offensive line is the real weakness.

Don't really understand the automatic assumption by many that Coker is gonna step in and be a great QB for Bama.

He may, I guess.

But, then again, he may not, right?

What do you expect us Bama fans to say? We don't care what you don't understand. Worry about your defense and we'll worry about our QB.

Wishful thinking from the Aubs. Whoever our QB is he will have more total yards than Nick Marshall. That I can guarantee.

Well apparently Marshall has improved on his accuracy. That obviously can't happen to a kid like Coker because you know he plays for Alabama.

If you want to reassured Bama boys search my prior post on the subject. I was trying to get him to LSU but Satan is way way better recruiter than me.

However, he may struggle a bit if your O line cant block but he can run, unlike AJ and is a winner

I honestly don't think Bateman looked that bad. He was throwing to a walk-on behind our second string oline and still made some plays. Bateman showed that he has a lot of the tools, decent footwork, and some mobility. Needs to improve on decision making, but redshirt freshman seldom excel in that area.
I think Bateman looked as good as AJ did in the 2011 spring game. Bateman could easily take over a 2009 GMac type role.
I don't know about Coker. I think he will be good. If he's not, Bateman can. I'm far more concerned about our oline than I am about our qb.

Now I'll agree with Sims. He is fricking terrible, but I've been saying that for months.

Agreed, without a solid oline the qb won't matter much.

Coker will be the starter

Whether he's great or not

No Auburn fan should have anything to say about not having ability or earning the job because of your current QB who just went through Spring FOR THE FIRST TIME under Malzahn

You didn't see anything magnificent from Nick Marshall before he got to AU he was a DB at UGA for goodness sake. I saw a LOT more out of Cam coming out of JuCo and didn't even expect NM to start even after watching his JuCo highlights.

Coker was a highly coveted back-up at FSU, so TTs asks what tools does he have

1. Already shown to be highly competitive from at least earning #2 at FSU

2. Size - bigger than every other QB at Bama right now

3. Smarts - Already graduated in a semester over 2 years. I can also guarantee you that he already has a playbook working on learning it.

4. Experience - He and Sims are the only QBs on Bama's roster who have actually gotten in and played in a D1 game, makes a difference.

If he doesn't earn the starting job I'd be shocked

Mett couldn't even dominate His first year. Coker will witness the decline of the gumps. Or what the rest of the country calls most of 2000's
