it will be a completely different team by the time we play West Virginia

evaluating a Spring Game is like reading tea leaves - that shite don't matter

The offense is so cut down in a game like this it is hard to tell much. What you look for is individual performances, and I agree Sims had a very sucky day.

QB is still wide open without a doubt. And someone needs to step up.

But I would hope that your first team O would run up and down the field vs the scrubs. I would hope that would be the case anyplace. Same goes for the defense. Nothing gets answered watching that and going by that no way anyone can say whether you are better that you were or not.

TT's claim about the mighty Auburn second team offense..

Every positive has a negative and every negative, a positive. That being said, no way Sims starts. Coker or Bateman can manage the game enough to win 10 or 11. I mean, JPW, McElroy, and McCarron all did as first time starters in the offense.

Bateman looked like a better passer yesterday, but Sims has more potential.

He needs to work on his passing ability, but when that OL starts breaking down, you might want a QB that can scramble out of a bad situation.

I disagree that nothing can be learned evaluating a spring game. Especially when you are talking about qbs.

But it was still one of fifteen practices. With a summer and fall to go.

You think it's that far-fetched to say Auburn's second team offense couldn't be better than some of the first team offenses in the SEC? Like fricking Florida? Or Arkansas? Or Kentucky? Seriously? Auburn's second team offense could easily be better than those abortions. Jeremy Johnson, without a doubt, could start at any of those schools.

Auburn's defense was mid pack at best last year and gave up yardage in chunks. And the mighty second team only gained 80 yards on THAT? With starters missing due to injury?

Game set match..Anti wins.

Awesome.

Bateman isnt the runner that Sims is, but he's pretty fleet himself. Or maybe it just looked that way going against white kids in Utah in high school. Coker is a big kid but he's a very good athlete that can run as well. No matter which of the 3 winds up starting, we're going to have a QB that can make plays with his feet.

You lost your best pass rusher and a starting corner
plus Carl Lawson was out and others too if I read right.

Hell Hoover High could manage 80 yards.

Nothing you post that I have read can be considered winning. You might make a good point if you weren't full of such rage. It muddles your message too much.

What about offenses? With seven returning starters.

What Sims was asked to do yesterday would not be how he would be used in a real game. You would see more sprinting out and zone read stuff.

Yea, Dee Ford was good, and defensive line in the biggest strength on this team. It also was last year. Chris Davis was an above average corner, and great punt returner. Is that so hard to replace? What's your point here? Auburn's defense will get worse because they lost two players?

I'm the one that told you that. Again, defensive line is our deepest position.

Damnit, son, you are just something else.

In your opinion, who was the better rusher? McElroy or McCarron?

I always thought McCarron was one of the goofiest looking runners. Comes from having a higher center of gravity.
