If you live by what you see at Bama's spring game, then I got some swamp-land in South Alabama, I want to sell you. You forget, Bama won 2 NC with first time QB's.
The question about today, how good is this defense? Being there, to me, they were a force to be reckoned with.

Other than middle linebacker and safety, this year's Alabama defense is going to be much better than last year. We finally have a stout pass rush.
The offensive line wasn't great last year and won't be any worse. Quarterback is a concern though. If Coker is decent we'll be fine.

Auburn will likely be a better team this year than last year and finish with a much worse record.
Prepare to be very disappointed.
Even if you're the best team in the country it's difficult to win a national championship.
Auburn fans are the only people on the planet who don't realize how close their team was to 9-3 or 8-4 last year.
A few breaks, good or bad, can really warp a season one way or another.
Although it will be cute when Auburn loses a close game on a bad bounce and then complains about their rotten luck.
