This just isn't remotely true. Ever heard of an APR score?

It's pretty hilarious some of the stuff people come up with to hang on the one and done. I think Orton is probably the only guy UK has had that's caused a negative hit on the RPI. I think even John Wall received academic SEC honors.

Where's that LSU guy that was saying that Cal tells all of his guys he "knows" will go one and done to not even enroll in classes in the spring semester? Bet he's a little miffed with some of the guys at UK who's announced they're coming back next season.

One and done's have been devestating for college basketball IMO.

Auburn basketball has had quite the problem with this. I am thankful for this proposed change.

Jennings is definitely the exception. People also tend to forget these are still 17-18 year old kids that would be traveling a world away. And in some not-so-favorable to American spots as well.

I guess everyone has forgotten he didn't attend college because he couldn't qualify to attend college?

Pretty much. It's still hilarious to this day that he cited the academic facilities at Arizona as a reason he flipped to them from Southern Cal.

I will never understand why the NBA won't adopt MLBs draft system. You either come out of high school, or you have to stay at least 3 years in college

Because the NBA doesn't want to develop a decent farm system. And the NCAA doesn't give a shite about their student-athletes enough to let them get a good evaluation of where they stand before they make that decision.

there's some truth to this, even though the NBA is finally starting to put some effort into the D league even though it still has a long ways to go

I get that, but they would have enough feedback from people outside of the NBA if it was in their best interests to jump directly into the league.

I would say #2 is the "fat little girlfriends" and groupies hanging on for a slice of the payoff. Your "friends" and "hos" can't exactly spend invisible scholarship money. All the more reason to never actually give the kids cash.

Free labor is always good.

Until next Friday when Chicago comes through. The price will increase.

wish they would do it like MLB. You can go pro out of high school but if you choose to attend college you have to stay for 3 years.

This. And though it would cost some money to implement, but maybe do a true minor league. Add a couple rounds to the draft.
I know it won't happen, and may be stupid anyways, but just throwing shite out there.

He was a second round pick and was with the Knicks for a portion of this season.

To say he was a LeBron-type prospect is stretching it; he was never considered a stand-alone in that class above Barnes (two years of college didn't seem to help him much), Kanter, and Irving.
