this deal really makes Mizzou look like a stepping stone.

Can anyone guess what I think of the past few coaching hires but can't say on here because I would be banned?

It's what most of us are thinking but refuse to admit...

Stepping stone?

Quin Snyder had off the field issues and would have stayed if he was allowed to.

Mike Anderson was a good hire by Alden, CMA was building a Final Four contender before he got his dream job offered to him at Arkansas, which in my mind is a lateral move.

Haith was a bad hire from day one, he was hired to a program above his coaching ability and it showed. All he has done is regressed to a program with lower expectations and more suited to his coaching ability.

Mizzou is hardly a stepping stone, if anything it has proved more then a few coaches could handle and a second choice for a very good coach in MA.

Mizzou basketball needs a coach who wants to bring that first Final Four to COMO, imagine the craziness, the guy would be a fricking hero and would probably get a damn statue. I find it hard to believe there aren't some coaches out there which are enticed by that.

So Frank Haith at Tulsa makes more than Greg Marshall at WSU. Life really isn't fair.

QS was a rock star when hired. He self destructed. Suitcase took over a program in turmoil and built a regular tourney participant. His interviewing every offseason didn't help his image with Mizzou fans. The surprise hiring of Haith quickly blew up in Alden's face when the NCAA investigation came to light. It initially hurt Haith's recruiting and quickly soured the fan base. Attendance declined and apparently Haith and Alden had a bit of a strained relationship. Burwell's article try's to paint Alden as the villain in Haith's leaving for Tulsa. Haith did Alden a favor and as stated it spoke volumes when Alden didn't return Haith's phone call. Hopefully the next hire will energize the fan base.

$1.85 million per year

It's almost as if he went 30-5 one year and never won less than 23 games in his Mizzou career which made him attractive or something. So weird.

My prediction is that the Tulsa AD loses his job over this hire.

It's that bad.

It's going to be interesting seeing what he does down there. He's still going to prove some of us right and some of us wrong.

I meant most of us right and some of us wrong. My bad

Yeah because his teams couldn't play offense or defense for shite, couldn't command the respect from his own players. So weird.

It will be interesting like watching mold grow on bread under a microscope.

It will be interesting to see if he can recruit at a high level (comparatively) for Tulsa. The problem for him is that he's stepping into a similar problem there that he did here. The fanbase already thinks it's a bad hire. Hence, his leash will be shorter. I hope his buyout is high, because that's his best chance for longevity.

New details indicate Haith took a significant pay cut. Like $500k per.

Ok so Mizzou won 23 games this year, but did they beat anyone of significance? The only team I can think of is UCLA at home. Everyone else was a cupcake or a mid major. The simple fact is Mizzou was given so many opportunities to make the Tourny and they did nothing with it, losing to Georgia/Vandy/Tennessee was more then enough.
