Mizzou basketball APR is 979 so classroom issues weren't really a problem. (2nd overall in all competing sports)

That's good, that gives you plenty of room to take care of the off the court stuff if kicking player's off the team is needed for example.

A bad APR means you have to keep these guys around as it hurts you to have them in the media, but it hurts you long term with the NCAA to get rid of them.

Fran Fraschilla @franfraschilla
He just got them big raises. RT @DanWolken: Frank Haith will reportedly make more at Tulsa than AAC counterparts Mick Cronin and Kevin Ollie

Mizzou gets to keep the only real coach on his staff, Tim Fuller has been named the interim head coach at Mizzou (From Louisville) responsible for recruiting Gant

Haith told me he would love to bring Fuller but "that man has a head coaching position in his near future"”

Gary Parrish ? @GaryParrishCBS
Just spoke with Johnny Williams, dad of Mizzou’s Johnathan Williams III. He told me J3 will stay at Missouri regardless of the new coach.

Gary Parrish ? @GaryParrishCBS
“J3 did not play for the coach. He plays for the school,” Johnny Williams told @CBSSports.

Tod Palmer @todpalmer
Assistant coach Dave Leitao and strength coach Todor Pandov walk into the Tulsa press conference before Frank Haith arrives. #Mizzou

This is very smart.

We might actually see some significant development in Jonathan Williams, even Rosburg now that Dave Leitao is no longer coaching our position players

Fuller is staying as the interim coach for now. no chance he gets the job, not ready.....wouldnt mind keeping him as the new coaches top assistant but when we hire a new coach. You can bet he bolts to a school like Pit or even back to Louisville etc...

This will help keep the remaining team together, and keep Gant and Wright committed to Mizzou. If Haith gets these players to leave for Tulsa

Wait, you mean it is the incoming coach's responsibility to take over the program's recruiting?

Different story this time around.

Mike Anderson had enough class not to poach your players and recruits however.

Mike Anderson didn't leave anyone to poach. The fricker didn't recruit anyone in his last year at Mizzou. Have to give Frank Haith a little credit at least he left some talent on the roster, that's more than Anderson did.

All Anderson did was leave Mizzou with a final four capable team.

Damn that Mike Anderson.

Anderson left Mizzou in a precarious position by not recruiting anyone for 2011. All the returning players were mostly seniors, so it's not like they had a choice to transfer. Haith has some good pieces in place, they just lacked quality coaching. Jonathan Williams, Wes Clark, and Torren Jones, Cameron Beschield, and Deuce Bellow are all pieces you can build a team with, and could be supplemented with Wright and Gant.

It would have been nice if he had called this guy; then Mizzou would have really had a final four capable team. Hell, you would have thought he would have wanted him for Arkansas if nothing else...

It would appear Haith tried to extort money from Alden by using the Tulsa job and Alden called his bluff

I'm almost positive that isn't how it played out. Haith sucks but he isn't that stupid to think he could leverage a pay raise out of administration.

He was interested in Mizzou while Anderson was there and did not sign with Georgetown until after Anderson left so...?

Arkansas had no spot available for him, the only option was to pull the NLI from an instate kid and the AD was not going to allow that.
