which begs the question...why does Alden hate Norm and anyone affiliated with Norm so much? What an a-hole to treat our most legendary basketball coach and his people that way...

To be honest, shooting for Norm-level success would be pretty much the definition of settling for mediocrity. Maybe that's why Alden is aiming higher.

Just spoke with Johnny Williams, dad of Mizzou’s Johnathan Williams III. He told me J3 will stay at Missouri regardless of the new coach.

Good news. Now have him call Gant.

I was using their word with galvanize.

The section of the fanbase that seems to live the past; always looking for a return to the "good ole days". And being perfectly honest there is a part of Boone County that would not have liked the last two coaches had they won it all.

don't know who "they" are either really, if living in the past is wanting a return to solid fundamental basketball on both ends of the court, then count me as a "living in past" fan.

The good ole days of Sundvold, Frazier, Stipo, Chievious, Booker, Smith and Peeler?

Hell totheyea sign me up!

And you can get that from most coaches. You don't need a junior college coach to accomplish that.

Then better invent a time machine, since no coach is going to bring that back, Anderson included.

Agreed. I don't think he can recruit the way the other candidates can.

The crusty old white guy days are over.

He's a flower at the end of his bloom.

A tree in fall.

A waning moon.

No thanks.

And there's sections of St. Louis City that hated Norm.

Surprise. There's racism in every fan base.

we need a young, hip, assistant, like maybe a slick kid from the Duke program, oh wait, maybe grab up some coach the "players can relate to".

The more things change the more they stay the same. A lot of the best coaches in the game today are crusty old white guys.
