It should also be noted that the Pac12, Big10, and ACC are also all going to 9 game conference schedules. Yeah yeah, those are easier conferences, but still, with >12 teams you have to have 9.

9 games with 1 rival and 2 rotating teams for cross division. 1 of the 2 other division teams changes each year.

Eight Or Nine Game SEC Schedule?

Eight

#1 keeps ACC vs SEC games which the B1G, B12, and PAC do not have
#2 playing 7 in the SEC is like playing 11 in the ACC, B1G, B12, and PAC

F*ck the penis wrinkles in the other 4 conferences that are not deep enough to make 8 conference games a season plenty enough.

I did, last page.

But this is VERY important to point out.
If we let the wusses like the LSU AD go with a wimpy 8, it gives the appearance that we scared to play tough and meaningful games, meanwhile the PAC 12, etc. are willing to man up and play that extra game like Oregon- Arizona game, instead of Oregon - Montana State game.

biggest problem with a 9 game schedule is inequity from team to team

Nine and no more FCS games in the non-con.

I would like 8 and no more FCS but that goes against the SEC history. Most of the FCS games the SEC plays are SoCon members and the vast majority of the current SEC were born in the SIAA and SoCon. Arkansas and Missouri are only 2 that do not have the historic roots. Texas A&M was in the SIAA and South Carolina was in both the SIAA and SoCon.

If I was SEC dictator scheduling would look like this

8 conference games
1 ACC / SEC games in mostly east and B12 / SEC in mostly west
3 DI games vs non Big 5 conferences (outside ACC, B12, B1G, and PAC)

What I hate is the sham of the B1G and PAC going to 9 and using the tougher schedule argument when the real reason they are doing it is to save the "pay to play" games which saves them money.

This, a million times this. The SEC could gain major national respect by adopting a league wide "No FCS games" policy.

There are still plenty of FBS creampuffs out there to play for homecoming and stuff, no need to play glorified high school teams.

I'm for anything that would send Auburn to the East.

Nine. We need to play all teams in the conference as often as we did with 12 teams in the conference. Why even call it a football conference if you play teams in the other division so infrequently? IMO, the only way to do that and keep permanent opponents is to go to 9 games.

Well find a neutral site rival like the cool kids.

It should be 9

And someone explain the "roommate switch"

Nine and no FCS games. Play at least one "real" OOC game. Two cupcakes are okay as long as they are not FCS.

NINE. it's the only fair way to go since there seems to be some "rivalry's" that are sacred cows.

You don't think there's already a great deal of "inequity" with the current SEC schedule crap. How could a 9 game SEC slate be worse ?
It will at least add a decent home game every other year and drop a horse-shite rent a win at the same time...I see NO downside !
