Prohibition used to be a FEDERAL LAW.

I don't think so? I think there is a standard across the board, then schools can also enforce whatever they want.
I could be wrong I guess, but this is what I've always thought.

If you are equating the legal status of weed to prohibition.....put down the bong.

weed at one time was completely illegal and classified as a schedule 1 drug..also still a schedule 1 drug
it's a perfectly fine comparison

current 1st and second strikes per NCAA.
quote:
Under Bylaw 18.4.1.5.1, the student-athlete becomes ineligible for all regular season and postseason competition until eligibility is reinstated by the NCAA student-athlete reinstatement staff on behalf of the committee.
quote:
If a student-athlete tests positive for the use of a “street drug” after having tested positive for use of any banned drug, he or she shall be charged with the loss of a minimum of one additional season of competition in all sports and shall remain ineligible for regular-season and postseason competition during the time period ending once calendar year (365 days).
Like I thought they really let the schools deal with it more than anything. Maybe they are relaxing the stringency of the non street drug rules. Which UGA fans know all too well with the player that just his eligibility back.

wow, that's eye opening. The term "street drug" in such a professional context made me lol too.
