Also, and I'm really not talking shite here, why has the Blues fans response to this been so dumb? Is it that the majority are new to hockey, or is the media just talking it up more than they should?

Yet again, Hossa last year.

I don't think the response has been any more than that situation. If so maybe it was because the Blues were the best team in Hockey all year, maybe it's because it was the captain that suffered the hit.

Maybe you're just being a little bitch.

Blues ate shite at the end of the season and there was never an excuse for it.

Every team loses a key contributor to a bad hit.

I'm figuring I'm just an enemy behind the lines being a Mizzou fan. I've just never experienced the crybaby shite from this side of it before.

Then again, this is the first time in 15 years that I've ever been on a Mizzou board with Blues fans. I guess there's new experiences all the time.

It wouldnt matter the fanbase after a hit like that the fans are going to bitch about it.

You're smarter than this. Unless you're trolling of course than you're smarter than me.

I honestly just think it's fun to say that all the Blues fans are new to hockey and see who responds.

I guess I'm bringing the rant shite here now. Sorry.

Do I want them playing rough? No. Do teams do that when they're losing? Yes.

What's funny is they had the game in the bag. Less than 5 minutes to go.

The Blues are comatose and Keith and Seabrook are out there stick surgeoning and lining people up.

Seabrook will be suspended. We'll see how the garage league handles this.

Seabrook got a 3 game suspension.

He better hope, for his health, that the series doesnt go 6 games....

Good lord this thread is ridiculous.

While I agree that Seabrook's hit wasn't clean, there was absolutely no intent to injure there. Seabrook is a physical player, and was trying to finish his check just as Backes was pulling up. Anyone that has played hockey knows its nearly impossible to pull back in a situation like that. I thought he'd maybe get a game or two at most.

Overall it's been a pretty even series. IMO the Hawks should be up 2-0, if not for their choke jobs in both games. These next few games should be interestig.

Disagree. Intent to injure is old time hockey.

The problem is (as Don Cherry correctly pointed out in the one video kilo posted LINK), the instigator penalty has curtailed fighting to the degree that players don't fear repercussions from taking liberties with the sticks and the rough stuff.

And as for the Hawks being up 2-0 in the series, the last two Hawk goals yesterday were on fluke deflections from the point. So the Blues could have just as easily won the game 2-1.

And if Corey Crawford doesn't stop letting in multiple untimely goals, the Blues will sweep their arse out.

I'm no hockey expert, but it didn't look like he tried to pull back.

He's as big of a piece of shite as there is.

He left his feet.

He targeted the head.

He put his head through the boards.

He taunted afterwards.

Complete lack of class. I would never make a good coach because I would have gotten on TV and would have told everyone after that game that I was activating "Fill in the name" who never plays, and he has one instruction, find Kane or whichever one Blackhawk you want, but name him by name, and let it be known that the player activated is there only to use his stick to take Kane's head off. Let him get ejected and suspended, we'll call it even.

I'm not sure how things escalated so much in here, but now I feel inclined to make one last comment on this.

Seabrook went for the head, it was a dirty hit.

It broke the code among players.

There could be lots of hits like that every game, but better judgement is usually used. Being a playoff scenario Seabrook decided to go for it, and it cost him 3 games.

The hit was dirty. The intent was malicious.

Saying otherwise means you don't know what you're talking about.

Was it an extremely dirty hit, no. Was it vulgar and disgusting, no. But it was indeed a cheap shot.

Agreed, like I said, it deserved a suspension. I just don't agree with people saying he was trying to injure Backes. Backes put himself in a really vulnerable position by having his had down in the corner, right after he lost the puck. Obviously Seabrook should have held up, but like I said these plays happen so fast, it's extremely hard to pull up in that situation.

IMO this hit isn't relly comparable to Rupp on Oshie, Cooke on Savard, Torres on Hossa, etc.

As far as the instigator goes, I wish they would get rid of it, but it won't happen in the new NHL. Sucks but that's just how it is today.

No need to wonder how things have escalated here.

Hopefully the team feels similarly.

He was trying to hurt Backes.

Did he step on the ice that shift with the intention to injure someone, no. But the opportunity presented itself and he took advantage of it.

He targeted the head. That's a certainty. There is no intention besides harm when you target the head.
