That's why all these stars are kind of BS. There are plenty of stories out there like Davis who have plenty of ability that don't get any love for one reason or another but can easily contribute.

Not true. They mean something, but that is an argument for another thread. Good for this kid. I don't care who he is or where he is from as long as he can do his job.

I don't think the recruit ratings are B.S. at all. It's just not the be all and end all.

I do believe history shows that recruiting the top ranked players matters, and matters a lot. Kids like Davis are the exception, and not even close to being the rule.

That having been said, it's nice to get one of those exceptions. Especially at CB.

If Davis was healthy throughout hs, he'll be considered a "low 3 star". No matter, because this guy is fully focused his entire stay at the school and will get better every year.

Some guys, not all, peak out in high school while others gradually get better and better.

From what I heard Davis was recruited by a few D-1 schools then tore his ACL twice and the schools backed off from him after. Supposedly he decided to walk on at UGA and Pruitt's "anyone has a chance to start policy." Gave him a chance to show what he's got. We've gotten a lot of pass interference calls but for the most part our corners have stuck to receivers like glue and been aggressive. I'll take that anyday over 4th & 18 tipped touchdowns.
Not sure that Matthews issue is an injury. He's dressed out and has been sitting down on the bench the entire time. Doesn't seem to have as much energy as the other players too. Looks disappointed

Seems to be only Wiggins with the penalties.

Except the drops. Been lots of drops by everyone. And I'm going to be anal about that for awhile thanks to the damn bowl game.

I'd give the backup battle to Bauta simply because he made some great plays after he settled in but it was obvious that Ramsey by far had the best arm and the most potential out of all 4 of the quarterbacks. He had one absolutely beautiful pass

Bauta 231 yards passing and 38 rushing only QB that went live

I think right now, we want consistency over home run ability. And mason has been that. Richt was certainly not pleased with Ramsey if you listened to his post game interview. Baruta looked good for a lot of the game, but it took him awhile to warm up. I thought park looked pretty good for his limited playing time minus the pick.

I ain't particularly a big fan of mason. I've run into him a couple of times DT and heard stories about him that just haven't left me with glowing impressions. Not anything to bad, but and not a big deal but whatever. I'd rather be able to start a young guy. But I just don't see that as being a viable option right now. All the young guys we have need a lot more experience and they just do to have it yet. JMHO.

I'm a big fan of this Davis cat. Kid can play.

He's on the HOPE scholarship. Anyone know how that works with scholarship limits?

It doesn't I'm pretty sure. Hope is an academic scholarship so can't see how the ncaa can count that.

He doesn't take a spot. But Richt will give him one in the fall if we have space
