For real. And David Stern. Those three are the reason why the Lakers suck right now. Stern denying that Chris Paul trade

Sounds like Pearl wants another recruiter for his final Assistant Coach.

Agreed. There's some serious talent coming out of Alabama in the next couple of years that we need to lock down.

2015 we have 4-star Daniel Purifoy and in 2016 we have 5-star Josh Langford and 4-star Lamonte Turner.

I'm happy for Chuck. He is one of the top 2 to ever play for us. I like the fact he has so much asst. coaching experience at the NBA level. Great hire for us, IMO. Pearl can groom him to be our next HC.

I give Barkley the nod. Chuck could shoot lights out. Barkley could do so much more, IMO. Barkley was probably shorter than Rifleman also.

Have to disagree. On the COLLEGE hardwood, Chuck Person was the all-around better player than Charles Barkley.

according to my dad, chuck person is the auburn GOAT... that's good enough for me.

he also played w/o the 3 point line, i believe.

Your Dad is wise.

And very likely close to my age.

You could easily make an argument for either player looking at their college stats. I would lean to Chuck though because he was a better rebounder than one would think and he played before the 3 point line which was big for him. He would have averaged 4 to 5 points per game than he did.
Sir Charles college stats
Riffleman's college stats

Wait so if we have Chuck Person who is cousins with the Wiley family and we have Pearl/trending upwards program, we will get a top 10 player?

Yeah, they were both great. I saw them both play. Rifleman was the best shooter to ever play for Auburn. He could not get in the paint and bang with the tree's, Barkley could. Barkley could grab the rebound and go coast-to-coast any time he wanted. Person couldn't do that. Again, I saw them both with my own eyes and Barkley would be my first pick.

7+ rebs a game is some descent banging, especially from a guy who shot from the outside a lot.

No doubt. Chuck wasn't soft. He could mix it up down low when he wanted to. I don't think you could go wrong with either. I like Charles a little better simply because he was the bigger personality of the 2 and he dunked on people.
