I'm not gonna guess on the roster.

Rotation should be

Waino
Lynn
Miller
Lackey

If we get down 0-2, Lackey should probably go in Gm. 3. I hate that, but I'm not sure about Miller in an elimination game. Lackey has been there done that.

LA has the starters, but their bully is questionable. If we can get to their pen, I like our chances. If we go up there swinging at everything, and Kershaw and Grienke have low pitch counts, we are in serious trouble.

I had the same rotation written down.

Will they carry 11 pitchers? 12?

Starters
Waino
Lynn
Miller
Lackey

Bullpen
Rosenthal
Neshek
Manness
Wacha
Martinez

That's 9 pitchers without any lefties yet. Figure they'll carry at least 2 lefties taking ya to 11. Which 2? Choate? Siegrist? Lyons? Gonzalez? Freeman?

Infield
Molina
Pierzynski
Adams
Wong
Carpenter
Peralta
Descalsio (my guess because he plays multiple spots)

Outfield
Holliday
Jay
Buorjos
Taveras
Grichuk

That's 12 position players with only 2 catchers. Will have 1 or 2 spots depending on how many pitchers they carry.

Maybe Cruz as a 3rd C?

After that, I think I don't know who I'd keep. Think I'd rather keep another pitcher. Otherwise what...Kozma? Scruggs? Ellis who is 0 for September?

I could see Tavares not making the roster this go round.

LA will have two lefty starters. Grichuk will start those two for sure, and a third if it goes 5.

Not saying it will happen, but I could see them deciding to carry an extra lefty.

4 outfielders could probably get you through a short series.

I'm not very good at the playoff roster stuff. I'd imagine there is lots of minutia regarding match ups that plays into these decisions. Looking at it from a broad viewpoint, like I do, isn't what management does.

Yeah, I hear ya. For some reason, I see only Descalsio as the only backup infielder and it makes me nervous if someone goes down. Just really isn't anything else I'd put on the roster that would justify dropping someone else. Well, other than STL radio is talking about how Kozma owns Kershaw.

Not even a question of wether Descalso will be on the roster or not.

MM would never leave him off.

No question he'll be on it. What I was getting at is having just one infielder on the bench enough? I guess it is but that seems awfully thin. Do you add another? I doubt it because you're looking at Kozma, Ellis or Scruggs I think.

Looks like the Royals are gonna make the playoffs but I can't see them getting too far. Royals don't have enough offense to get past a hot hitting team, their only hope would be stellar pitching and lights out defense every game.

Prophetic

Royals are where they are in spite of Glass. What a shitty owner.

Just pathetic. That fan base deserves better.

Yeah and they may lose Dayton Moore, when you get to the playoffs pitching is paramount but you gotta have the bats to compensate for these type of games and the Royals don't have those bats.

Y'all need to be able to go the other way. Trying to pull everything. If anything they're gonna nub it to short unless the pitcher makes a mistake.
