Real bummer about Tony Gwynn.

He was a class act, and the last true hitter in the game.

Him and Griffey Jr were two ballplayers I always loved as if they were my favorite Cardinals.

Huge love and respect for Gwynn. You said it. Last true hitter. Used to love going into every season wondering if Gwynn, Boggs or Mattingly were going to hit over .400. My money was always on Gwynn. Don't know if it's because of my NL bias, but always loved watching him hit.

Maybe the hitting coach was an idiot?

Weird if it is just a coincidence...

It's a long season. However, both teams are looking better.

Detroit has a real problem with Verlander though. It's become a pattern. You guys are in a good spot I think.

As for us, I've thought the Brewers were for real since April. Lots of everything going right for them, and they have some vets to keep everyone on the straight and narrow, something the Cards lack.

Might be WC or bust for us, unless the next level is achieved. We are knocking on the door though, which is good.

ETA: If the "unthinkable" occurs, well, just make it look somewhat professional. I can't rock a stretched out JPEG as a sig.

Brewers are like the Blues, they're a B+ team built for the regular season. They have an inherent ceiling, one that is lower than the Cards, who are like the Blackhawks in this analogy.

Brewers have been a .500 team since the end of April. We catch them and don't look back at some point this summer.

Cards fans take on the Yadi attack ad from the Brewers?

They have one thing we lack.

Ryan Braun, he is absolutely killing it.

We have no one that kills it like that. Hopefully, Tavares comes back after his cup of coffee and makes Magic Mike put him in the 3 spot and leave him there.

You talking about the Lucroy thing?

I had assumed that was produced by MLB. They've been stringing together a bunch of PSA like ads for each team.

I've never liked the Brewers. It's kind of personal since my bro in law is a fan, and we talk a lot of shite back and forth. 2011, was especially pleasing.

If they did produce this, it wouldn't surprise me. Their fanbase seems to think the Brewers are like the Packers, this is not the case.

It's my understanding the Brewers produced it, not MLB.

I'm all for tongue n cheek stuff, I love satire, but this as MM said "threw me off guard", this is pretty tasteless. Not something I'm worked up over, but I'm going to call it like it is, this highlights the obsessive nature of the little brother complex the Brewers have for the Cardinals.

Deep down they know the Cardinals are like the Packers and the Brewers are like the Jaguars, they know this and it kills them, it eats at them.

I lived in Wisconsin for 6 years, Milwaukee for a lot of that time. Half my Facebook friends are Brewer fans. Their fan base is so incredibly obsessed with the Cardinals it's unbelievable.

I agree completely.

Remember when Yost flat out said, "Our desire is to be like the Cardinals"?

The fanbase kind of became that ideal. It hasn't worked out for them.

It's probably very similar to how Rams fans will act when they get decent again.

I don't remember that Yost line, I wish I did, that sounds like great fuel to use against my retarded friends.

Yep, upon Internet review, it was definitely produced by FS Wisconsin.

Whatever, I like a little fuel.

We torched them in 2011, I'm all for a WC win, a div win, and then another NLCS stomp.

If it's any indication how little I care or think about the Brewers, I have no idea what y'all are talking about. I mean, I've heard rumblings that someone mouthed off or something but really could care less.Brewers are no different than the Cubs or the Reds or the Pirates or the Astros. One decade they'll find a good player and be good for a few of those years in that decade. Then they'll suck for a decade. And the circle goes on and on. We've been fortunate that that suck arse decade hasn't bit us in quite a while.
