@GoodmanESPN: Kareem Canty tells ESPN that he wants something to compare Auburn to -- and will visit South Florida before making final decision

So premature report of transfer or kid changed mind

Not sure but I'm hoping we told him that we might not have room and are after someone better at a position of need that can play right away.

I was thinking the same thing.

He is also going to visit Penn St. Word is his old AAU coach is one of Cal's guys and there is some bad blood there from us running off Barbee.
Per Evan Daniels(Scout national bball cruiting analyst) TJ Lang will officially visit Auburn Friday. I like his game and skill set. He isn't an elite athlete but his size and length help make up for it. Do want.

Auburn has decided not to appeal Pearl's show cause.

I think that is a smart move. I am pretty sure that would be fighting a losing battle. The asst.'s can hold down the fort until August.

Jeremy Hollowell is going to Georgia State as well

Will we pursue any of Tennessees recruits that are asking for loi releases?
Posted on 4/24/14 at 10:48 am to GenesChin
i'm not sure we can... since they've signed, I don't think they can transfer within the SEC.

Tennessee will release them from the LOI meaning they are free to be recruited by anyone.
Common practice during coaching changes to release them. Basically means they are your avg recruit again

Free per AUC
quote:
Three-star power forward Philip Cofer tells me he has been granted a full release from Tennessee. He will still be considering Tennessee along with other schools such as Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Indiana, Memphis, Mississippi State and Virginia Tech among others. Cofer hasn't taken an official visit yet, so he still has all five to use. He is rated the nation's No. 36 power forward and the No. 144 overall prospect in the 2014 recruiting class according to 247Sports Composite.

New JGT article is pretty solid.
Main points
-Major conditioning overhaul has been made. Sounds similar to what FB players said last year
-Development and role with team openly discussed. Each player gets progress reports about what they have being doing well, what they need to improve on and how they will fit in the system
-Recruiting involves players' input. Pearl briefs the team on all incoming recruits and then has a debriefing where the players talk about if the kid will benefit team chemistry. Pearl told them that they can veto recruits essentially
-Malcolm Canada may stop being a fatass

A couple of things
-Per AUC the AU staff is very interested in Cofer and will go after him hard
-Per JGT, Bowers can't sign an NLI with AU because he already signed 1 for FSU. No worries though. He will come in, sign the Fin Aid papers like a regular student and likely start classes in May.

Have you came across anything about TJ Lang's visit? Evan Daniels had an article on Mon or Tue about him visiting this weekend but I haven't seen anything since.

Thanks. Makes sense to have all the coaches on the road this weekend with the Nike EYBL and JuCo showcase going on.
