I'm not getting on the Berk wagon, but to say he's terrible and looked overwhelmed 2 years ago is insane.

He was a FR and had absolutely no offensive line. I mean, come on.

He was also playing behind a 3rd string OL and running plays called by YOST. What did people expect from a freshman having to execute out of a 5-wide set behind a patchwork OL when everyone was bring 7-8 guys every snap. The kid stood no chance under Yost in that situation.

My biggest problem with Berk is the times I have been able to watch video of him from practice and he still seems to struggle with accuracy. With that being said, video from practice does only offer a small sample size of what he may be doing. But seeing QB drills where everyone is drilling throws and Berk is still missing high and wide is concerning. With his size though I wish we would use him as a Blake Bell type player at times and bring him in on the goal line. The threat that he could throw will keep guys back a bit to allow him to run in a few Tds. I feel like he does offer something to the team, but his mechanics would never allow him to be a consistent QB.

got any links to these videos? that would be great. The videos that they post on garypinkel.com and powermizzou only get Berk's good throws.

You post a lot of stupid shite on this board. Printz passed Berk when Berk had a knee injury and was out for the rest of the season and REMOVED from the depth chart.

Do you even follow Mizzou sports?

Talk about posting stupid shite. I wasn't talking about at the end of the season. By the end of camp before last season, Printz was taking snaps with the 2nd team, something Berk wasn't doing. That's what I was referring to.

He was practicing as a blocker on kick or punt return last year for whatever that's worth.

Meh. Berk is fine. He's not as bad as some make him out to be and probably not as good as others think he is. He will probably be a backup his entire career and that's fine. We need that in case of injuries/transfers.

What I said wasn't directed just at you, hence 'some of you guys'.

And what I said wasn't harsh or anything, weird response from you.

Matter article with interview with Hosick, who looks to have replaced Berk on kick/punt return. Give the guy kudos for sticking with what he believes in, but from a personal level, I'd like to see him on the field and I don't think that's going to happen at QB.

Not completely sure I agree. Whoever is 1 and 2 will stay because both will get minutes; granted #2 will only get a couple of series each game but he will heavily involved with film work, practice with the #1 offense, etc. What do we care (not being a dick) who is 3, 4 or 5 and if they transfer or not? Yes it would be nice to have a "bank" of good QBs but I doubt we'd ever need to rely on #3 or 4 on the depth chart (hopefully I didn't just jinx us )
We've been caught with our pants down time or two because someone has transferred. Quincey Carter's freshmen year two qbs transferred and one didn't pan out so we were down to one. In 2000 Carter was a jr and we were down to him and a walkon who ended up starting several games (threw for 400 against UK )

He couldn't even make a 10 yard pass, you serious? It's true that he had no line but I can't remember him making one good play, if he was good we would have seen some kind of spark despite a shitty o-line.
