Ok, Ive been holding out forever (and super busy), but is this damn thing going to get on DirTV this year or not?
I know I can call and get my rate reduced, but I care more about actually getting the SECN.
DirTV is the last provider I thought would NOT have this by gametime.

Really? They're the only major provider who still doesn't have the PAC 12 network. Nor do they have WatchESPN.

I would personally call regardless and get your discount. Comcast lowered my bill for 1 more year without a contract commitment (they offered 2 year discount with a contract). I'm sure DTV will do something similar without a longterm commitment.

I didn't read through the whole thread so sorry if this has already been posted but what about smaller cable providers?
Just moved into the off campus apartments designed for students and they use SuddenLink, which from what I can tell doesn't carry the SECN.
I know if push comes to shove everyone can pour into bars and restaurants airing the game but I can't imagine them leaving so many Aggie students in the dark for this 1st game?

15 years with DTV goes away on the 14th.....Dish install on the 11th. Even saved $600 in the first year. They had their chance.....maybe they and dish will remember this exodus when it comes time for Slive to renegotiate.

Just made the call to suddenlink this morning. They informed me that they are still in negotiations, but plan to have it before the first air date.(Said that the last few months i've called) I told them i wanted to know what the process to cancel television would be, offered me free nfl network for the year to wait it out another few weeks.
Would only cost 70$ monthly for modem rental/50mb internet package monthly.
How much is the DISH running you monthly, if you dont mind me asking? (SECn included)
ETA: meant to reply to harley spoon

I dunno I would be surprised if Suddenlink gets it before the air date. Who knows, but Suddenlink sucks. Just go to NG and watch it, people will probably be pretty nice if you have South Carolina gear on

Speedy:
The deal I got was the following with two receivers and includes the hopper and the joey and includes "America's top 200":
- $0 net installation cost.
- 24 month commitment
- three months of free HBO, Showtime, Cinemax and Showtime.
- some free NFL package I don't care about
- $9 for the first month.
- $54 for the next 11 months.
- $94 for the next 12 months

I've been searching for confirmation about that all morning... So was it all a troll?

I doubt it. They tagged Jason Cook in the tweet. My guess is someone said run it to get people off their backs and someone more senior said you can't announce that til it's really done and they pulled it.

and they just tweeted again

So in all of these negotiations is espn making sure that those who don't currently offer LHN will now have to carry it?

they are definitely pushing it. Not sure why so many Ags care so much tbh though. The channel is all but DOA and is a non-entity.
Dish took it but only in SD. There's simply no way that a channel you won't even use the bandwidth for HD on is getting over like $0.05 per. They didn't even get carriage with Comcast who flat rejected it's inclusion and word on the street is DirecTV is doing the same.
Personal opinion obviously but I think ESPN is just limiting losses on it at this point. Take what you can get and move on.

This.
The LHN's primary concern for us was as the "final straw" giving us the final motivation necessary to switch conferences.
Don't really care too much about it now that we've flown the proverbial coop.

That's almost as bad as not having it at all.
I care because I don't want longhorns being able to claim any sort of success in regards to lhn. I want them to constantly be reminded of what a failure it is. I'm petty like that.
As it stands now, what kind of money does ut make from lhn yearly? Just curious.

they make 82.5% of the payout from ESPN (17.5% goes to IMG). Right now it's about 11.7m so they get about 9.7m with IMG getting about 2.0m. This will increase 3% annually.

Whooooop!
I called last week and they said they were working on it, but hey... they're a cable company, so who knows what that means? Great to see confirmation that its a done deal from the other side.
