I honestly think his track speed is a little overrated. His times haven't been dominate at this point but he's got a lot of time to improve. We didn't RS him this past year because everyone believed he was gone regardless in 4 years or less. If his times don't improve he may eventually RS. I believe track is a spring sport so it would work out that he would use up all 4 years of track eligibility and then have one more year of football eligibility to follow that last Spring of track. He's gonna have to believe his future is football and not track for that to happen

Kailo is fast as shite. When he ran down Mathers that was impressive. Mathers was full speed at that point and had at least a 3-4 yard cushion and he tracked him down straight line no angle.

He may not be killing it in track but his technique will improve and so will his results.

Something I haven't seen mentioned regarding Saturday:

Gleeson has a big leg.

He was consistently punting it from the 30 to the 20 or 10. 50-60 yards. That was with BOTH feet. Traditional punting AND rugby-style. I think we've got a weapon there.

I didn't see any place-kicking or FG kicking other than XPs. Anyone else got anything there?

I hope he finds his place somewhere. Whether it's at corner or on the track. The fact that he's been open to position changes has made me happy. He seems like a good kid.

Yeah, the kickers looked solid from 40 yards or less. Pappanastos (sp?) has a great leg but missed a couple wide.

Pointed out to my mom that when I dial her on my phone that I have to pres 6-6-6 (m-o-m). She was not amused.

And just so I'm not completely off-topic here, I went to the game and I walked away happy with both sides of the ball. The biggest concern was injuries, and we're looking pretty good in that department. Can't wait for Taylor and Cooper to get here though. Are they reporting for summer classes? I figure Rod needs to get on the weights ASAP, not sure what kind of shape Cooper is in either.

I think Pappanastos will be our kicker unless Wunderlich just comes in and is a beast.

Ok, and what do you think Ingram is? Or epps if we don't RS him? They are WR playing TE. And I play golf regularly with someone who is a coach high up in our offense, as in the guy below the head coach , and he doesn't complain at all about our wr depth. Don't take "coach talk" so seriously, and don't tell people who actually know the coaches to tell the coaches things that they aren't really worried about...

This is all kinds of terrible. Please edit to delete. You sound like a 12 year old that saw Freeze in Rebel Rags and claims you personally know him.

Wunderlich is more of a punter/kickoff guy. He can hit FG's, but he was not a consistent FG kicker at MUS. Now three years from now he may be a great FG kicker, but Pappanastos is pretty good right now.

ETA he was 8 of 16 his junior year, and 9 of 15 his senior year. His punting and Kickoff numbers are off the charts though.

Who the frick are you? I don't "claim to know freeze", although I've met him on a couple of occasions. I know one of our offensive coaches pretty well and play golf with him from time to time. Don't know what your problem is, but please, enlighten me...

Who the frick am I? Lol honestly, in the terms of Ole Miss football…a failure. Both sides of my family have been Ole Miss football players, one famously wore #42. Another played with Eli... Look, if you have connections, cool. Don't go wagging your tail in peoples face because you do. It's childish and petty. The coaches have publicly said we are thin at WR. And please don't be so fricking naive to compare Eli's WR crew to this WR crew. Media has changed our perception on players potential ability. Eli had a fine college WR crew.

I am not wagging my tail. I'm telling it like it is. You are attempting to wag your tail in your last post, real or not, all while being childish and petty...

Believe whatever you want from whoever, it's it my problem. I'm just telling you what I have heard from from who I know. Keep dragging this out if you would like. My main point was that our OLine is our main concern and that I am not as concerned about the WR crew. Of course, it doesn't matter what I think, because I am not friends with a walk on that played with Eli...

Anywho, I am probably more excited about our D than our O this season. It's been quite a while since we fielded a defense that I could actually be excited to watch,, and not just hope that they keep the opposing team to a field goal instead of 6...

Also, what kind of time do we expect to see Alford play this year at safety? If he is as good and athletic as has been said, at such a deep position, could be also be used elsewhere?

Walk-on? I'm not wagging my tail. I said I was a failure. If I want to say I'm related to Charlie Conerly, that's not wagging my tail...stop being retarted.

Well you have the last name for it.

If that's true, you should be ashamed of sucking so much at football.
