Well, youngster, there was no Internet back in the day, but there were newspapers and magazines and they all had their lists--Parade had its All-American team, the Atlanta Journal Constitution had its Super Southern 100, etc.
So, yes, you could still "keep score" back then.
Believe it or not, there was an Earth and people and football and recruiting before the Internet existed.

Sorry chief, I'm in my mid 30's and have been following recruiting for 20+ years when I would read Athlons top recruits. They just haven't been ranking them with stars for decades is what I was getting at.

This is commonly known as going ugly early, it is a sure fire way to get laid every night you want. What you do is go into the bar and just grab the first slump buster you see at about 7, take it home and go to town so you can still go out after.
