I think Barnett and Fitzpatrick are good friends. Fitzpatrick changed his twitter name and pic to Blake Barnett and a picture of him lol.

Yeah just saw something like that on twitter and went to Barnett's page to see what was up. Apparently Anfernee Jennings, Hale Hentges, and Lester Cotton did the same.

Harass? How so? Do you have personal experience with this? And if Eric is shopping his "friendships" to get a job with a recruiting site, surely, you can't still claim he's any better than the recruiting sites

Never said he was any better but neither are the sites.

And in regarding how so yes I have. One with a current UA player that I witnessed at an event with made up facts and the other with a former UA player who I personally know the family who like many other recruits get irritated at constant text messaging or phone calls when they did not even give out the number. This one I know had family members who he did not live with and his GF constantly harassed. But we all love that favorite line in recruiting when they get the info from someone close to them or in their circle. Yes many of these recruits like the attention especially from the fan bases, but the sites are just a form of paparazzi and nothing more.

I don't agree with your paparazzi comparison. Paparazzi don't rely on the cooperation of their subjects the way recruiting services do. If a particular recruiting site reporter crosses the line into harrassment, then the prospect will just cut him off. Now he's fricked. The nature of the job requires them to be aggressive but only to a certain point.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure it is an annoyance. Every time you get back from a visit, you're getting called, texted, and emailed from reporters from 247, ESPN, Scout, Rivals plus newspapers and several regional or small time recruiting services like Tider Insider. Plus the frequent if not constant communication from the different schools recruiting you.

But here's the reason I asked you about your claim. I've not heard of a recruit complain about harrassment from recruiting services. I've seen them take to twitter to dispute something that was reported about them or complain about their ranking, but I've never seen them claim they were being harassed. Doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

Maybe harass a strong word and do not mean in the terms of stalking(close) or something illegal, but I have seen recruits mention the barrage of contact from sites becomes very tiring. Again I think that their egos help to perpetuate it and fans help to drive it, but for all the time invested by these sites trying to gather information they seem to not produce as much and hence why so much fluff.

But in the end if it was an exact science and they had all the answers we would have no entertainment. The fun or craziness in recruiting is the speculation.

Devil's advocate: who would report a recruit being tired of it? All these businesses who would be interested have their hand in the jar. I have heard of recruits being tired of the process, and I think that's part of it. Most of them love the attention, but a few don't I'm sure

If I can, I'm gonna defend this kid a little:

If he's 16 or 17, what he did is no different than a grown man asking an autograph of....Antonio Gates or whoever. He's the same age and looks up to them. Or tries to get info. Whatever it is, he's that age. If they shite on him or call him a fanboy, fine. But I personally don't see it as a HUGE deal. Again, if y'all ever catch my damn near 30 year old arse tweeting recruits for autographs, shame me. Please. But 16 is a hard enough age without being mocked publically by adults.

Gonna be honest, I WISH this was in the ballpark of the most embarrassing shite I'd done at 16. And I was more awkward in my early 20s. I wasn't a bastion of cool. I was pretty make funable until I got into stand up and stuff

When TS first met me I was obese and sitting at a bar watching a ppv Bama game with my mom. I had a jersey on. I may have even worn a bandana

Point is, hey Eric, I don't think we ever talked or anything on here, but don't worry about this bullshite dude. You don't have to lie or owe anyone an explanation. You're young. This is the time for things like this. Growth and stuff. People don't like what you do, tell em to get fricked and call them old.

I would think at least a few would gripe about it on twitter which would then find its way to message boards. I remember there being a couple cases of recruits taking to twitter to say that they would no longer be doing any interviews with a particular service because of what they considered to be overly critical evaluations of the recruits' film or camp performance. If they'll call out services for that, I don't know why they wouldn't do the same for being overly aggressive on obtaining info.

Now I go to bars and tell hot women I was in Bad Company even if they have no goddamn idea who that is and I'm not 60 years old. That's how few fricks I give. I'm ready for love
