13. Byron Cowart

State: Florida

Byron Cowart is a 5-star defensive end who has great strength to set the edge. He displays above-average quickness at the snap, but he's at his best as a pass-rusher when he converts his speed to power.

The 6'4", 250-pounder can shed tackles and tight ends with power to get free versus running plays. He also has good speed and range in pursuit, plus Cowart has enough athleticism to drop into coverage a few times a game.

Florida is in front of Alabama, Oregon and Auburn, according to 247Sports.

I would tend to agree with you except the fact that he is going to be a one and done and not 3-4.

My TE of choice for this class is Hale Hentges. Just look at this film:

I'm joining this club. I'm not even sure Clairington can uproot me.

7. CeCe Jefferson

State: Florida

Growing into a defensive tackle in college is not out of the question for CeCe Jefferson. Yet, right now, he's a 5-star defensive end prospect.

Jefferson, who is 6'2" and 250 pounds, is an explosive player who also has good strength. He does a solid job of setting the edge versus the run, plus he has the range to pursue running backs across the box. As a pass-rusher, he jumps on top of offensive tackles at the snap with a quick burst.

Jefferson squeezes to the passer well, and he shows a good surge to finish. It would be surprising if he didn't sign with Florida.

Blake Alderman of InsidetheGators.com (subscription required) wrote on April 19:

“Jefferson grew up diehard Florida fan and that is playing some into his decision no matter how much he is trying to make it a non-factor."

5. Terry Godwin

State: Georgia

Terry Godwin is a 5-star athlete whose best football is ahead of him. He can play cornerback at a high level, but he has remarkable potential as a receiver.

The 6'0", 168-pounder has fluid athleticism to make plays in the passing game. He separates quickly by getting out of his breaks in a hurry, plus he doesn't fight the ball with his hands. Godwin also has the speed to be a dangerous threat with the ball after the catch.

He's committed to Georgia.

2. Malik Jefferson

State: Texas

Armed with incredible athleticism and agility, 5-star linebacker Malik Jefferson also has good instincts and vision.

The Texas native is 6'2" and 225 pounds, and he's impressive on tape. Jefferson has a quick first-step to explode to the ball out of his stance, plus he can break down and be patient in space versus ball-carriers. Jefferson also has the skills to help as a pass-rusher off the edge.

He needs to improve his coverage skills, but he should be ready to contribute on early downs as a true freshman in college. Alabama and Texas A&M are his top suitors, according to 247Sports.

1. Trent Thompson

State: Georgia

The top recruit from SEC country right now is 5-star defensive tackle Trent Thompson. At 6'4" and 292 pounds, Thompson is a Georgia native who can do it all inside the trenches.

He has the explosiveness and burst to overwhelm blockers at the snap, plus he's slippery when shooting through gaps. Thompson has above-average strength to walk offensive linemen into the backfield when challenged, and he also has terrific range.

The Peach State recruit is a prototypical three-technique defensive tackle prospect.

Georgia, Florida State, Alabama and Auburn are all in the mix, says 247Sports.

So I guess we would be done at WR with Ridley and Charlot already on board.

Someone on BOL said we may take 4 at the most. Maybe Godwin if he flips.

I think Godwin would be better at Corner to be honest.

Ryan Bartow just left Woodbridge (Va.) Freedom High School after speaking with 4-star 2016 defensive end Kyree Campbell. The 6-foot-4 and 268-pound Campbell has nine scholarship offers. His top three in order are Ohio State, Alabama and Florida State with Ohio State being one of his offers. Campbell plans to visit all three schools this summer as well as Miami, North Carolina and Maryland.

"To me I would have to say Ohio State," Campbell answered when asked who his biggest offer is so far.

Campbell's other offers include North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia and Vanderbilt.

Ohio State defensive line coach Larry Johnson is currently at Freedom High School.

Campbell is a 4-star prospect in the 247Sports rankings. He is the country's No. 116 prospect, the No. 7 strong-side defensive end, and the No. 4 prospect in the Virginia class of 2016.
