I agree that Cyrus definitely regressed. How much of that was due to also having Arie next to him? Bad move IMO to put them next to each other because he would sometimes try to cover for Arie's slack. Also felt like Kouandjio mailed it in at times this year. Maybe he was reading too many of his own headlines? I question CyKo's work ethic, and his performance at the combine added to those questions. You had a few months to do nothing but get ready for the combine, and this is the best you can do?
Another thing was that the kouandjios were very undisciplined especially with false starts. How many penalties did those two have? Too many. Now the question is is that coaching, laziness, somewhere in between?

Here's an interesting quote from Jovon Durante (who we've gotten 12 CBs for since his almost commitment):
quote:
Durante is close with Alabama offensive line coach Mario Cristobal, as he was originally committed to FIU while Cristobal was head coach of the Panthers.
"I’ve known (Cristobal) since I was a little kid growing up. Our relationship is real good. He was recruiting me to FIU. He was one of the reasons why I committed to FIU. The other reason was because I wanted to play with my brother."

Five-star defensive tackle Tim Settle (Manassas, Va./Stonewall Jackson) told 247Sports National Recruiting Insider Ryan Bartow on-site on Wednesday that Arizona State is the school that is currently "recruiting him the hardest". Settle's recruitment is all over the map and he's one prospect that you can say is truly wide open at this point. Virginia, Virginia Tech, Oklahoma North Carolina, Alabama, Ohio State and others have been believed to be his leader, but there's a long way to go with this one. As for the Sun Devils? We could see him taking an official visit to Tempe for sure.
WTF?

I don't think he wants to play in the SEC. JMO.

I can't believe it but according to Devonaire Clarington's Timeline on 247 Miami didn't offer him until 12 days ago.
You'd think he would have had an offer from them for a long time.

They have been putting out a lot of new offers lately but yea that is strange.

And speaking of Clarington, his Hudl highlights are private. Where the frick are all you Devonaire lovers finding his film?

I updated my wishlist. I left Payne and Settle obviously. I sandwiched them around CeCe Jefferson who has a chance to jump up to #1 if he continues to say the right things. I removed Jovon Robinson. I added Hale Hentges because he's my favorite TE in this class (until one of you bastards links Clarington's film) and he visited twice in the past month. I also added Zach Gentry. Mainly because he is the only uncommitted QB on the board with an offer. I reserve the right to change that selection after our QB camp (assuming Gentry doesn't commit by then).
Thoughts?

Sounds good to me, just hate that Jovon will end up at AU

Let's be honest. He would have been a luxury pickup for us. I'd love to land him, but I think he sees a better opportunity (at least to him) at Auburn where he can be "The Man" instead of splitting carries.

Auburn can sell the "one and done" approach to anyone. They have Cam's experience to use as an example. That would be an easy decision for Jovon. Problem is, the player thinks that he's surefire ready for NFL but sometimes it doesn't work out that way. He could cause some problems concerning team chemistry, if there is any, because of his number of carries. The other guys prolly won't like it much.

Im just glad when he gets to Auburn they will be breaking in a new full time quarterback and a few other pieces around him. I was just thinking what if Jovon was at AU this year, that offense would have been one to watch.

Florida consistently has one of the best defenses in the country because it keeps landing players such as CeCe Jefferson.
There isn’t much Jefferson can’t do defensively, as he’s a versatile player who could fit in either a 3-4 or 4-3 scheme. He seems to be more comfortable playing with his hand in the dirt and getting after the quarterback, but Jefferson has also shown the ability to drop back into coverage and make plays on the ball. He plays with a high motor and is also quite quick for somebody who is a stocky 250 pounds.
Jefferson flies off the football and has the potential to be a terrific pass-rush specialist. Of course, that’s the reason many consider him to be the best defensive end in this year’s class.
The talented defensive lineman has already visited Florida many times and seems to be favoring the Gators at this point in his recruiting process.

22. Tim Settle
State: Virginia
Virginia doesn't have a school in the SEC, but it's still technically part of the South. Plus, 5-star defensive tackle Tim Settle has the size and strength to become a dominant player in the SEC.
The 6'3", 318-pounder has exceptional strength and power at the point of attack. Settle beats up guards for four quarters, plus he has good short-area quickness to close on ball-carriers in a flash.
Alabama, Ohio State and Virginia are key schools for him, says 247Sports.

21. Damien Harris
State: Kentucky
Hailing from the Bluegrass State, 5-star running back Damien Harris is a terror with the ball. At 5'11" and 205 pounds, Harris has the frame of a power-runner, but he actually gets the job done with terrific speed.
He is at his best he's asked to make one cut behind the line of scrimmage and get up the field. Harris can jump to the edges, and he has the explosiveness to reach the end zone anytime he touches the ball.
Ohio State, Michigan, Kentucky and Alabama are just a few schools to name who are after Harris, per 247Sports.

20. Shy Tuttle
State: North Carolina
SEC schools constantly raid North Carolina for prospects, and 5-star defensive tackle Shy Tuttle is latest elite recruit from the state.
At 6'3" and 315 pounds, Tuttle is a natural-space eater who can cause a lot of problems in the trenches. He can cover up a center and push the pocket from the interior, plus he has a powerful anchor to make a mess in the middle versus running plays.
Alabama and North Carolina are his top schools, says 247Sports.

18. Daron Payne
State: Alabama
At 6'2" and 316 pounds, 5-star defensive tackle Daron Payne is load in the trenches. He has solid quickness at the snap, plus Payne is a heavy-handed puncher at the point of attack.
He reads plays well thanks to his good ball-location skills. Payne can sit down to anchor versus the run with ease, and he also sheds with violent power. The Alabama native can play in a 3-4 or 4-3 scheme.
Keep an eye on both of his in-state schools.

15. Kerryon Johnson
State: Alabama
Perhaps the recruit with the best and most natural instincts on this list is Kerryon Johnson. The Alabama native is a 5-star athlete who can excel as a running back or safety.
At 6'0" and 200 pounds, Johnson isn't a blazer. However, he has outstanding quickness and a sharp burst in his athleticism. He uses great vision and awareness to locate holes and creases as a running back, plus he has a solid feel for routes when backpedaling as a safety.
He's committed to Auburn.
