Doesn't seem like it. Why do you ask?

Was Q. Vasser #1 OLB on the board?.. guy would have committed at any time.. coulda prolly even flipped him at the last minute..

It's sort of refreshing to see the new approach but I wonder if Sherrer understands the power that he holds?

Just thinking out loud.

He's a DE, and he's probably pretty high on the board for them to take him this early.

I figure all the final decisions go through Mark Richt and he's pretty laid back and gave a freebie to one of his new coaches.

I'd like to see the board.

For Vasser in particular, Sherrer wouldn't have made the call on the offer. It would have been Rocker, then Pruitt and Richt for approval.

Sherrer is basically the area recruiter who would be the messenger.

I feel ya... the article was written in a way that Sherrer seemed to pull the trigger early cowboy style... I do however like the new approach in this case. & imho, Richt should always consider other names on the list and give extra bonus stars for intelligence, leadership, and character. imho

Probably not even Richt. He is very hands off on defense and he let Grantham make all the personnel calls on D, so I imagine he is letting Pruitt do the same. No telling how involved Sherrer actually was in making the decision to offer. Could have been as little as making contact initially and then actually extending the offer, but he at the very least had to get the ok from Rocker and Pruitt in the instance that Vasser is "his guy" and he was pushing Pruitt and Rocker to let him take QV.

Pruitt wants plenty of guys who will be instant impact, it gives me the feeling that he is expecting a few more to leave before the start of the '15 season. Vasser probably won't be the only commit we get this year that is a bit of a head-scratcher at first.

Apparently Vasser's commitment isn't official. Any info on what's going on?

There was some confusion because traditionally at UGA, recruits have to talk over the phone or meet with Bulldogs head coach Mark Richt first before the commitment is officially accepted. Vasser hadn’t talked to Richt, and the New York native has never been to Georgia.

Mark Richt is such a slacker... I knew Vasser was not on the big board. WTF

I honestly can't tell if you're a yellow jackets fan that's:

1) 70 years old and just ornery
2) 35 years old and stupid
3) 15 years old and naive.

We didn't even offer. He's a small OL from Sprayberry HS. Auburn was just about his only major offer. He was getting Miss State, Louisville, Duke type offers

Yeah we did. He has offers from us, UF, Clemson, USCe, and a host of others

We made a move a few weeks back, but he grew up an AU fan and that was going to be tough to overcome

He is barely 6'4 on a good day and 280 soaking wet.

This is not a miss by the least.

He wasnt ranked nationally and was barely a 3* consensus
