If UGA can finish with those guys plus Roquan Smith, Darius Slayton, etc. I'd be ecstatic

If we pulled all of the above, this would be the best class we've ever had.

It'd be our best class ever by a decent margin probably.

Barton Simmons just changed his CB pick from UGA to LSU on Donte Jackson. He states that despite what Donte is saying publicly, that privately he thinks that LSU is his team.

ETA: BTW, Barton does not just hap hazardly change his Crystal Ball picks. He usually has pretty solid info to do so.

I get the impression that he's playing the odds of LSU having some momentum and his source thought they would eventually overtake Georgia

Regardless, UGA needs to get him back on campus

Agree with all of that. But with a plugged in guy like Barton changing his pick, I am not getting comfortable with ultimately get Donte in Red and Black. Which would really suck.

What's the highest recruiting class we've ever taken in the history of Georgia?

I agree that we shouldn't be comfortable, but after the last few years I'm not sure how plugged in anyone actually is in Louisiana

I think it's 3 or 4 depending on what service your looking at.

Since the major services started doing rankings I believe we had a #3 or 4 class in the early Richt tenure.

1998 is considered one of our top, if not the top, class in history but I don't know if they were really doing rankings back then.

Anyone know what the 1979/80 class would have been?

Not according to 247. The TE recruit is the only one currently listed as an EE.

You got a link? This would be great news.

He said that in an interview today.

I wouldn't rely on that commit list for who's EEing. They don't update that very often until they actually enroll. I know Vasser, Seymour, Patrick, Carson, Harris, and Godwin are all trying to EE. That's just who I know off hand of our commits.

Remember this post by me:

quote:

Funky 247 ratings. UGA has 2 fives 8 fours and 10 threes. One of our fives is the top or second ranked recruit in the nation. Clemson has 1 five 8 fours and 11 threes. Clemson is 3 and we are 5? That extra 3 star trumps our extra 5 ster? I realize each player has a calculated rating but something is not weighted correctly for each little incremental piece to add up to that much. Must be that new math they teach these days.

Now Clemson has the same stars as UGA. Did one of their 3 stars magically become a 5 star?

I think there must have been a mistake since Mitch Hyatt was always a 5* and I believe that Deon Cain was also always a 5*.
