Land Slayton and it pretty much ends Abernathy's recruiting, too.

What kids from Griffin are having problems with grades? I remember there QB had offers to Harvard and Air Force. Just so you know Owens was also offered to Vandy. I don't think he will have grad problems. I went to Griffin for a year they teach like every high school in Georgia. I know I went to 3 different high schools in Georgia. I hate people that judge others because there from poor towns.
Christian Owens, WR, 6-5, 200, Griffin: Big possession-type WR helped his high school win Class AAAA state championship as a junior. Owens committed to UGA over Vanderbilt at the 2013 G-Day game. Owens got offers from Auburn and Tennessee in the spring. His Griffin teammate and cousin, Jordan Colbert, committed to Auburn. The two often talk about playing for the same college.

If Owens flip, and I hope he don't, we will still have a great WR class if we keep everyone else and add Jayson Stanley and Darius Slayton who both are trending like crazy to the good guys

I think they are referencing the grades scandal that hit Griffin a few months ago. The Head Football coach and his wife, I believe were accused of doctoring grades to keep football players eligible. I have a brother that used to teach there. Taught Jesse Tuggle, Jeff Jackson, Willie Gault, Randy Baldwin etc....

I also have some family on my wife's side still living in Griffin, so I asked them about the scandal and how it might affect Griffin HS. They said all of that (grades doctoring) happened several years ago, and probably would not affect any of the current players, but they were not 100% certain. We'll just have to wait and see.

Would post this on the RB, but I fear it'll get bogged down with more bitching:

I forgot to mention this earlier but I was at the FCA camp with McEachern and North Gwinnett and got to see them duke it out in their little Red Zone Challenge. I saw Julian Rochester from MHS put Mitch Hyatt on his neck twice and absolutely abuse him a few more times. Hopefully we can swing him away from AU and back to the good guys.

I'd rather him go there than team we play.

Yup. And Rust expects 3 commits this month. Doesn't say who but says it would move us up in the team rankings.

I'd say Stanley, Slayton and Abernathy if I had to guess. Trent could announce at any moment
