We need to quit "making a push" and get some commitments from these guys.

Settle down. We have more commitments than we have ever had at this point in the year. Signing day is over half a year away.

I hadn't heard about TJ for Queen. Any confirmation on that?
Yes. That was an initial posibility fort TQ but Dr. Andrews ruled that out 4 or 5 months ago. Have not heard anything on it since.

Yeah, and most of the top DL in this class are already committed elsewhere.

May need a second opinion on that. I know Andrews is the best in the business but geez dude obviously isn't healing worth a shite. He may miss his Senior season.

Nothing stunning but D Francois has a pic of him in a auburn jersey this morning a lot of comments from him that look good for AU. Hoping we pull this kid.

That sucks. You'd think they'd go ahead and get it cleaned up to be ready to go for college.

The only time I heard of him sitting out was on Cam Newtons 7on7 team. They had several QB's with talent, and it was two months ago. I thought TJ surgery was shoulder related, not elbow??

It's not ruled out. They are trying rehab first. It's the same injury that the Japanese pitcher for the Yankees currently has. Id bet he ends up having surgery.

And tJ is definitely elbow. they take tendon from your wrist, drill holes in both bones that meet at the elbow, then weave that tendon in a figure 8 pattern through the holes. Some say that it is actually stronger after the surgery than before the injury.

Yeah, seems like about 90% of the time when the try to have pitchers wait and see on those injuries they wind up having TJ surgery anyway.

ANd I know Tim Hudson said he gained a couple MPH of velocity back after his TJ surgery. But then you have guys like Beachy and Medlen on the Braves this year who had a second TJ within a year and a half of a previous TJ surgery, so you never know.

Andrews did my shoulder surgery back in 2004. Good dude. I basically opted to NOT have TJ surgery on my elbow and just rehab it and i can tell you that NEVER works. One of two things will happen, and they both involve surgery. You'll either further tear your elbow ligament, or you'll put more pressure on your shoulder because your elbow is weak and you'll need shoulder surgery (me).

Queen will likely have the surgery once he's enrolled

I kind of like that idea. He will be able to red shirt, or maybe even get a medical red shirt down the road.

The gain in velocity that sometimes happens post-surgery is likely caused by the extensive rehabilitation training that is done, not the surgery itself. The myth that the post-TJ elbow is "stronger and better than before" has created an epidemic of kids and parents trying to voluntarily get the procedure done because they think it will help the kid advance, when none of the surgeons doing the procedure advocate it. What they are starting to find is that you can expect the post-surgery elbow to hold out for something like 7-9 years (IIRC) if everything goes well. The surgery has a high success rate (especially with advancement in rehab), but it does fail and you do see guys who end up needing second surgeries done (as you alluded to).
