You realize he goes to a private parochial school and that he is damn well free to hit the public road if he doesn't like the schools policies and procedures?

I wonder what they would do if someone committed visited another school. Kick them off the team?

This is only a guess but the coach likely has a strong enough reign on that program that kids don't question it and parents would buck it. I wish more coaches held this sort of authority in High School. I don't mind the kids not being sure, etc…but the flipping gets old. Is there any example of a dramatic flip working out positively for the school who ended up with the kid?

Parkjas did you know anyone who was recruited? Even the most responsible parents find it difficult because it is new. Big time coaches make all kind of promises and roll out the red carpet which makes it easy to make a dumb decision. Most of these coaches have gone through this either themselves or with previous players and are very knowledgeable. Typifally for a coach to have this policyband be at a private school they are looking out for the kid and parents see that (most of the time)

Basically, this policy has a point to make kids be informed and to teach them to be honest. It is a program wide theme and the kids breath it while playing for the school. I imagine most kids wouldn't even think about decommiting

Welp YOUR son wouldn't have a team to play on.

Somewhere else though if the coach was strong enough to stick to his convictions.

Switching schools because you prematurely committed to a school before you are ready, despite the coach's advice and guidance, would be a pretty solid red flag for a lot of major programs.

Yes, if you are Martez Ivey, you can probably get away with that, but for those not at that level that are actually competing for schollies I doubt that would be a positive

Does this mean Bridges is gone or did they like this new guy so much they didn't want to let him get away?

Maybe, or it could mean we don't feel good about Slayton. I haven't heard anything about him in a long time
