this board is so fricking retarded...I thought it was just Saints fans but it now appears all Louisiana people are completely football-retarded

You should change your flair to OU so you don't have to be embarrassed about hiding under their skirt.

A few years ago when an NFL player did this he was lauded as a genius and a coach on the field.

It's definitely not a conservative approach, but I think it would have been the best option.

As soon as he scored I shook my head. Too much time to leave that team.

I've heard many coaches say always score. My thought as soon as he scored was, too much time, but there are many coaches who say score no matter what and our D needs to come to play.

But if he does kneel and Fla State stops them on 4 downs they talk about it as the biggest blunder in history.

THIS.

They were not stopping that rushing attack 4 times.

I'm failing to see what that has to do with this situation. Congrats on Oklahoma's win, it doesn't change the fact that bama beat lsu by 3 touchdowns, again

I believe in scoring no matter how quick when you are down. the lead is more important than getting fancy and playing clock games. If FSU forces you to a fg then you look like a fricktard

When Parkey missed that FG, I said to myself that might have been the game right there.

I did too. Just felt like it. Even when AU was up 21-3 you just sort of knew that FSU was going to come back

You send te game to OT and at least give your offense the ball again.

He did this with under 1:30 left and trailing by 3? I don't recall that. NFL is an entirely different game also. Kickers are much more reliable on chip shots. In the nfl if you're trailing by 2, you can afford to drop at the one and kneel it 3 times before kicking a chip shot. You can't do that in college. Players are more prone to making mistakes

pretty sure your natural instinct takes over there.

there were a handful of plays that doomed them, imo that wasn't one of them.

Its surprising to me how many auburn fans aren't willing to think outside of the box on this.

I bet you if malzahn could have mind controlled mason, he would have kneeled at the goal line.

No he wouldn't have. You don't piss away a certain lead with 1:19 left for a hypothetical lead with 0:05 left in the national title game. It's easy to say this in hindsight but no coach with a brain would advocate this move in the moment.

To say that you shouldn't take the lead with 1:19 left shows me how little you actually know about football

That's part of the issue with hurry up tempo offenses. If you control the clock FSU may not have had time to pull that one out.

fsu had two time outs. if tre stops on the one with over a minutes left and Auburn scores on 3rd down then fsu still has a lot of time left. if Auburn has a FG then fsu has time to get the best fg kicker in cfb into his long range.

we should've allowed the d to regroup and used our own TOs on the fsu drive.
