Vandy will take care of this SLU, just like we did Georgia Tech. Then we got the Cats, and Missouri on our home court. The Razorbacks come later. Let the fireworks begin. Oh, and we will not neglect giving LSU our attention either.

No real argument from me on this Belle, at the same time, and 8-3 record (before yesterday) isn't very inspiring.

None of this matters anyway, Cal is preparing his team for March, that's when it really matters.

Did you seriously just compare SLU with GT?

The only Vandy game I have watched this year was against Texas in Austin and both teams kinda looked like dogshit. For your sake I hope was not a representative sample. Vandy is one of the good basketball schools in the league and we need you back pronto.

SLU is a smidge bit better than Georgia Tech. And the rest of us have played better. We're not impressed.

I wouldn't say "poorly" coached, but I'm still not sold on Haith. His offense consists primarily of just clear out and let someone go 1 on 1. Did it last year with Pressey and this year with Clarkson. Maybe it's good coaching because the players can't run an offense or maybe he just isn't strong with the x's and o's.

The fact that their still ranking us 5th shows just how bad this conference is

To be fair, while Clarkson has been relatively solid he's not Pressey. While Pressey had his TO issues he also opened a lot up in that offense. It's hard to run if your PG isn't able to facilitate it consistently.

I'd take Clarkson over Pressey any day. Clarkson can finish at the rim and is a better shooter. Pressey was probably better off the dribble but his turnovers negated that advantage.

I noticed a pattern with KY basketball this year. They cannot beat a good team on the road. And LSU has only one quality win, at home against Butler. I am not arguing Vandy is a great team in a great conference. I am arguing we are a better than expected team in a bad conference. Translation, we can win enough conference games to make the tournament.

It's not clear out and one on one though. It's high ball screen pick and rolls for the point guard to either take it to the hole, draw the D at the rim and dump it off to a big, or if a perimeter defender sags kick it out to a 3 point shooter. With Clarksons scoring and driving ability and Browns 3 point shooting I think that's just fine as an offense for our personnel. It's also more NBA-like so you can recruit by selling an NBA style offense.

Too many of our fans equate "good offense" with lots of passing and movement and "bad offense" with less. But a good offense is one that gets a good shot for the right player to shoot it. Our offense may not "move" as much but it gets our 3 best guys shots. Quin teams passed it around plenty then tended to chuck a wild contested shot. Clarkson is hard to stop when driving lane and our offense puts him in position to do that.

Mizzou would beat SLU by double digits in CoMo IMHO. In STL I dunno. But it's not a series we play & the only time SLU wants to play us is when they get fairly good every 15 years or so, so screw it. Would rather play Missouri State each year. The statements by some of our fans that we are poorly coached are retarded fair weather St. Louisian Bernie Miklaisz type bullshite.

I don't think SLU would win at Columbia just because Mizzou is such a good home team, but put them on a neutral floor and I'll take SLU 2 out of every 3 games.

You make a very sound argument against the team being poorly coached when you call that view "retarded". I don't know how I could possibly refute that, but I'll try.

Mizzou barely plays defense, particularly the perimeter defense is a joke. They give up so many wide open threes, they should be embarrassed. The offense consists of 1-2 passes, then either a 3-pt shot or a clear-out for someone to go 1-on-1. The style of play is like the NBA All-Star game, without NBA All-Star level talent.
